I don't have the X components but if your XT fender is black and in good shape I would probably be interested in taking it off your hands once you don't need it anymore |

I have an '06 XB12X and I'd be up for trading my front fender "kit" for yours. |

It'll fit - - a lot of XT owners put the X fender kit on. . . |

You guys might consider this- apparently the standard XB fender allows a little better airflow to the oil cooler. I vaguely remember reading a post shortly after the XTs came out by a former X rider and he noted his XT seemed to run cooler than his former X. You can see that the fork guards on the lower X fender stick out a good inch or so more than the standard XB fender mounts do. At least in the case of an XT or lowered X, that puts the lower fork guards/fender mount almost directly in front of the scoop for the oil cooler. A couple of weeks ago, I suggested changing front fenders to a Badwebber that rides alowered X that's having the "skip spark" problem. He found a spare XB front fender in another Badwebber's stash, and changed it out. On a 100 mile ride, his skip spark problem seemed to be cured. I'd think twice before changing to the X fender on an XT. |

I changed out the standard X set-up on my 07 for the XT style. (Actually ordered one for an SSLong) It fitted straight up. My X guards and beak have since gone to someone on here, so it appears the fit is both ways. Only thing I needed was a support bracket for the brake-line, if the XT has the same length line, the mudguard will hold it and the existing bracket should be removed. |

Problem is, you are not covering your fork legs properly. You might need a lot of fork seals, cause the Ss fork legs are shorter. |

Neither is the stock fender. If you are really worried about your forks you should be running those sock like guards.

My real world experience of riding tens of thousands of miles without any fender will disagree, but everyone rides differently. |
