It was mentioned to me that we should have had a lot more people (people as in S2 people) show up at these especially this year seeing there are a lot of S2s in WI..... What are we doing wrong? Should we be advertising more aggressively? Is there another way to reach S2 Owners? Should we be doing something different at the Gatherings to attract more people? Is moving them around to different locations bad or good? I am happy with the quality vice quantity myself. | ||

Considering the small pool of owners we have to draw from here in this forum I thought it was good turnout. I think that if we wanted it bigger we would have to expand the base of potential attenders. Possibly post on other Buell forums, or get mention in a magazine. Or maybe a craigs list posting in each of our home areas. I have thought of hosting a future event in eastern Oregon (which has some of the best mc roads in the world and good weather to boot), but it is a long way away from most of you. I still think it would be a good location as everyone would have an adventure getting there. | ||

Frank, I think quality is way more important than quantity myself. The motorbike brings us all together. It is the friendships that keeps us coming back. Shane, I am just begging for a reason to ride to the Northwest. Meeting friends for an S2 gather would be the perfect reason. I need to sit down and put some photos together from our scouting trip to Arkansas and post up information for next year. I think it will be a great venue for riding and friendships. Loren | ||

If any body wants any help for the next S2 rally LMK,back in the 70`s I got the Michigan Norton Rally in Cycle World.If attendance is important I would open the rally up to BUELL Owners in general,or tuber only. | ||

Pete, the S2 Gathering has always been open to anyone on two wheels and of course other Bullers. What started as something to celebrate the S2 as a machine has become something that brings the owners together as passionate Buellers. Nothing more, nothing less. I would hate to think that someone would not come out to hang with us because they do not have a S2. We (Buellers in general) are too small in number to afford to be stuck up Aholes. S2 Owners are a very small percentage of that small group. | ||

Does attendance only count those with bikes at the site or everyone following online as well? I'm guessing that if there are that many S2s in WI those owners wouldn't be as interested in meeting with other S2 owners as someone who lives in the middle of Kansas..  I haven't made a single gathering, but I've read every post enjoying the stories of those who made while being bummed that I didn't. As long as 2 are showing up you've got an S2 rally. If you get three it's a convention. Any more than that is a bonus! Still, it's got to be tough on the organizers to put that much effort into an event and get a somewhat limited physical presence. If expanding the types of bikes makes it more appealing to organizers, by all means do it. On the outside looking in I don't see any shortcomings. | ||

Well let`s see,the only mention of said rally is in OLD SCHOOL BUELL in the Bad web system,who did we expect would show up.I,personly,would like to see more Buellers,dont get me wrong,the S2 is special.But all Buells are special,and should be celabrated.Plus some Buellers think the S2 is gramp`s sled,they need to be passed by Buff-Bolt or Shane or Jack for a real treat.Any way there`s some thinking to do. | ||

And before I forget.... Trying to figure out the the problem of my bike dying every 40 to 80 miles I called Brad, mainly to tell him we are trying to make it there. He mentioned that Firemanjim turned him on to the breaker problem.... Meanwhile, Jack called FMJ not knowing about my conversation with Brad and got the same info and of course that was the problem (the first problem at least).... Thanks Jim. I owe you a beer. I rode the backroads of eastern Oregon last weekend as a re-located SPLASH. The Mt. St. Helens roads are too poorly maintained to be fun any more so we hubbed out of Bend. Absolutely fabulous! We're in for 2014! (And hopefully for sooner ones as well, although any east coast trip would probably be on our new-to-us Duc ST4s.) | ||

Frank, I think the Springfast location would make an excellent location for an S2 gathering. I hadn't realized the gatherings were getting booked so far out. I'd like to bring the gathering back to the southwest, and am volunteering for the next available year. | ||
