Before you ALL get excited this ONLY applies if your bike pings. I just I've been meaning to do this for a few years, but just was to damn lazy. Yesterday I followed the instructions in this thread http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142838/315389.html and set my timing back 1/8 inch, the difference is astounding. The amount of power the bike was losing when the pinging started at around 5000 rpm on hard acceleration is amazing. Now the bike easily starts to loft the front tire in second. It is actually is scary compared to what it used to be. I just use to avoid pushing the bike to the point where it would ping before, now it just screams up to the redline. Since so many bikes had detonation issues I wonder it it was set this way to meet some sort of emmission requirement (or as a sabotage plot by the guy in the engine works at HD).
