Kdan and I took a spur of the moment road trip yesterday and found the coolest campground just outside Murphy,NC. Mrs. Glitch was telling us what a cool little town Murphy was. They have 3 small 1br/1bath cabins (2 full beds upstairs and a sleeper sofa down) with a kitchen and porch on the front, nestled in a little cove with a creek running through the front. Under the tree canopy is a place for a fire pit and just across the creek bridge is the camping ground. The Cabins are $85 a night. the driveway is paved so it is easy to trailer in. They have all kinds of off road trails and the folks that showed us around said cops were hardly around so they didn't think it would be a bid deal to bring the scooter, go cart or...fiddys. There is a large cabin just up the bank that has 3br/2bath with small screen porch and paved uphill driveway. 1br has 2 full sized beds. It's about 30 min north of Murphy, NC which is about 2 hours from us. The "loop" is a mix stretches like Wolfpen and Hwy 60. Also there is a BIG lake about 5 miles (mountain miles) from the campground. Not sure how far that is for the C3 folks but it maybe something we could take a look at for another smaller gathering. Here is the link to the place. http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.c rawfordsattellico.com%2Fpage10.html&h=fb5ca |

Murphy would be very doable, bit closer than Suchas, only because of major highways. The riding in that area is absolutley great. Spent Momerial day weekend up there for Big Jim's Ride. Most of the roads are very well paved and maintained. |

Murphy would be very doable, bit closer than Suchas Murphy is actually Mrs. Glitch and Glitch's town. She was telling me about it at Glitch's birthday party Saturday night. Sunday was my birthday so Kdan asked me what I wanted to do for the day. I said, "Loafern' ". One thing led to another and ba-da-BING! There we were. We found the campground and thought it would be perfect for an impromptu gathering sometime. ...we're just sayin'... |

Hey Guys, Just catching up, been awhile. Looks like I missed another party, dang! The Cyclone has a death rattle and with me shoveling money to divorce lawyers I don't see it getting fixed till winter... The Night Rod is purring along quite nicely thou it threatens to tear off it's pegs at the slightest provocation in a curve. Been in 737 school this week and have time to catch up on email and general web surfing. Buellish, hope you've found some wheels on the cheap. For the money you can't beat a Carola, I mean Corrolla or a Sentra (if you're into the jap kinda thing). The HHR is a heavy spendy turd, the cheaper version is a PT Cruiser. Not very useful in the mud (or pine straw) but I've gotten 125k miles on it with only basic maintenance at 30mpg and it can carry stuff that would surprise you in the back. It still has the origional front brakes driving to the airport every day, your driving style may vary... |

Has anyone here had experience with oil additives like Lucas or STP or similar? I have to wonder if any of those additives might be beneficial. Also, I'm sitting here with some Rotella 15-40, wondering if it would be decent for a Buell in the summer. I fear that the viscosity might be too low and it might cause problems, but I run Rotella in everything else and it seems to do the job great. Any thoughts? |

My mom used to make me eat this when I was a kid. Man, it was nasty.
My opinion. You're over thinking it. Oil. It's all just oil. I like a 20-50 Synthetic...Whatever's cheap. I run dino oil in all the other bikes, but the Buell runs hot. With the Synth, I can go the recommended 5k miles without feeling guilty. I've never used an additive. Most of 'em are just snake oil anyway...Pun intended. |

Nutella is awesome. I have a jar in my desk drawer. I spread it on apples. All I know about oil is that Duchtr used to run it in his Firebolt, and his fan always shut off sooner than anyone else's when we'd stop for gas. |

Mobil 1 oil on sale at Advanced Auto. 5 qts and a filter for $33.99 I wasn't able to get the deal at the store (Motorcycle oil wasn't in their computer system for the sale) so I call to complain. The sale is for Mobil 1 motor oil and a Mobil 1 oil filter, not just motor oil for automobiles as they tried to tell me in the store. Didn't have to complain too much to the guy on the phone; he ordered my oil for me, and I went to the store and picked it up. It took about 45 minutes to get the order placed but it was well worth the discount. |

The past 4 times i've ridden the Firebolt, the fan didn't come on after parking it. All trips were at least 5-10 minutes, and in This heat, the fan should Definitely be running. I checked the fuse and it's fine, so i'll have to look over everything else. The fan itself sounded totally healthy when it last ran, so i'm assuming it's a wiring issue. I'll have to pull out the EX500 till I get the Buell figured out. Electrical work.... yay...... |

Plug it in to ECMSpy and run a fan diagnostic. I wouldn't expect my fan to be on after only 5-10 minutes. 90 degree heat may feel like a lot to you, but the Buell's operating temperature is 320. |

I don't have ECMSpy, and I didn't know it also served as a diagnostic tool. I guess if I'm going to keep XB's around, I'll Have to get ECMSpy. Fair enough. I suppose it could be my own perception. I'm just so used to hearing the fan run when the bike shuts off that Not hearing the fan sounds weird. I might have been taking shorter trips than usual recently. Thanks Matt, i'll figure it out. |

Many thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I've been thinking that if the Factory Race ECM won't get rid of the midrange flat spot, then that's not the route I want to go, so ECMSpy might be the better option. Maybe you could run me through how it works. |

Hey everyone! Long time no see, or talk for that matter! I just wanted to stop by and say Hello. Anyone planning on coming to Indy for Moto GP?? If so I have plenty of couches, recliners, and space for people to crash. Also Some of the buell guys I ride with up here are planning a big cookout the day before raceday I think. Hope all is well in GA, I know I miss it down there. But IN is treating me good so far! |

The heat must be getting to folks, little post activity. I know I'm not out as much. In case you don't know, the Motus people will be at NPR Ducati in Athens tomorrow. From 11 to 1. Buellish and I plan to go. Could be a special day to see and hear that small-block v4. |

Ooh! I don't suppose they'll be conducting demo rides? If anyone's up for a mountain ride, I'll be out with a couple of work friends Sunday. It'll be a really leisurely ride. We're meeting at Rider's Hill at 10. |
