I was given a Firebolt Service Manual with my 2004 Lightning XB12s and need to adjust my suspension. Are the specs the same for both R and S model? And until I can get my hands on the correct manual, can someone shoot me the factory specs for 225lb rider for both front and rear suspension? thanks in advance... |

Not sure about the specs, but I'm pretty sure that they are different for the R and S. The service manual for my 2009 XB9SX has different numbers for each model. I can shoot those to you if you want. |

When I put dirt bike bars on my XB12R, I had to start from scratch. It moved my weight back and made it veeeery wheelie happy. I would take the specs from the R and go up one notch of preload in the rear, and minus one line on the front preload. Check the sag from there. To fix my unicycling issue I put a Uly swing arm on. |

I am a newbie. I have a 2010 XB12Scg. I am the second owner - but the bike is actually new - it only had 27km on it when i purchased it. I am trying to figure how to adjust the preload on the front forks. I didn't get a owners manual with it - still waitin for the dealership to get me one. I was given a manual for a 2008 model - but looking at the pics - I am not sure if there is a difference. On mine there is a pinkish nut with the set screw for the damper adjuster - and under that there is a larger black nut - but when I tried to adjust the larger one - it seems as if it is just a cover for the top of the fork... Help Sandy |

Turn the pinkish nuts to adjust sag/preload. Turn both exactly the same amount. |

I wasnt sure where to go - so i had started a new Conversation on the suspension page - - I posted a pic of the top of my forks there. i tried turning the nuts - and they move ok - - but no lines or marks could be seen - - it was as if it was just turning.?. |
