You had stated in another thread that the yellow ring on your throttle was your cruise control. What is the ring and where did you purchase?
Thanks

It is an O-ring from some Caterpillar. You can buy a bag of them on Ebay dirt cheap, I will have to dig up the part number for you. Badwebber Crusty bought them and was handing them out at various meetups. The way it works is I keep it on my throttle grip, and then I can easily flick it to the right and falls in between my throttle and HMVP bar end, holding the throttle. It takes no effort to engage and disengage it, and it is still easy to twist the throttle either direction if I need a little more or if I have an emergency and need to stop.

Here is a pic of it on my XB. I don't keep it resting on the bar end anymore, it is easier to slide it onto the grip instead.

Simple as that. Roll it back onto the bar end when you don't want to use it.

8M4991 is the Caterpillar part number.

I did a search on Ebay for that part number, there are a few hits, looks like you can get a pack of 10 for $8.95 at the moment.

You can get away with a cheaper o-ring, but the Cat one is thick and tough, and has held up to several years of abuse and year round all weather riding.

a vista cruise works too. more expensive and somewhat permanent ...

i havent tried the 0-ring trick, but i'd imagine there'd be some throttle drift at cruising speed due to vibrations and what not... froggy?

and will these fit between the grip and the switch housing on standard grips? (no bar-ends for me)

Nope. I haven't had it set for more than a few minutes without any adjustment though, as event a single degree increase in slope will result in you losing speed, and vice versa on downhills. A slight nudge is all it needs, then I go back to sitting on the back seat, or reclining with my legs over the frame pucks. : )

Not without Herculean amounts of effort. I am a computer nerd, so keeping a prybar in the trunk wasn't really ideal.

I ordered one, while I have bar ends I think it might be a better fit betweeen the rizoma grip and the switch housing, but I'll see when it gets here.

I also just bought a cramp buster to try out, for only $10 for that I figured WTH.
