It looks like Geoff continues to show excellent progress in getting familiar with the 1190RS. Segment times look impressive to me. I'll be eager to see how those, more fluent in race strategy view them. Fingers crossed ...this is really exciting.. |

Haven't seen or heard the progress or times that Geoff is making so far. Can someone post some info or a link to where I can check it out? |

Go to the AMA pro road racing site. Go to the Red Bull Laguna Seca event In the upper right hand corner you will see "competitor information" or something like that Go to 2011 Go to Laguna You will find ALL timing information. |

Here are the first practice times: http://roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=4 5420 And I think they're very encouraging. 8th place may not sound like much to those who are hoping for a podium, but the numbers should be put in perspective. In the first practice of any race weekend, Geoff typically ends up around 10-13 place and 2-3 seconds off the leaders against a field that typically has more experience and data on the tracks. As the weekend progresses, Geoff makes larger gains than most riders and is typically in a solid 10th or thereabouts by race-time. When the race gets going he tends to be more solid and consitent than the riders around him and often moves up a few places. In this case, he is starting much stronger than he normally does and after only the first practice, he is less than 0.6 behind Cardenas who is in 4th. While a podium is nearly impossible, if things go well, it seems like he could, by race-time, have speed in at least the same ballpark as Cardenas, R. Hayden, Pegram, Holden and Bostrom . . . and that will make for some fun racing. |

When I first went to live timing, Geoff had 4th fastest time, with about 9 laps in the books, then I caught this about 17 laps in...
And this was the final results for practice...
Pretty respectable segments and top speed, right there with the rest, can't wait for race day! |

Wish I could be there but my annual training started today for the reserves. But if I listen real close I might be able to hear Geoff on the 1190. I'm in San Luis Obisbo. |

Hey- they fixed the logo on the live timing! 2 weeks ago, they were still using the old Buell Pegasus. |

Where the heck is the live timing link...I am looking all over the site for it, and I can't remember it being this hard to find. |

That great. He is much closer to the front than usual and his top speed is t=right there with the fast guys. Looking at the lap details I suspect that Hayes and Young slapped on very soft tires for their last stint in practice. Trying to get just the right combo for Q. They saw some 3-4 very fast laps at the end. Hayes than dropped a second a lap on his last two. Young was only out on it for 3 laps so he didn't drop off. I don't think they have Q tires in AMA but at a short track like Laguna running the softest compound available for Q, as long as you can get the setup right, would have the same effect. Just cost more money. Q will be interesting. Go Geoff! I hoping for top 5. |

Geoffs times are good, only 1.6seconds per lap off of Hayes who was fastest in Practice, not bad at all! One and half seconds per lap is a lot, but Im sure they'll cut that down some more by raceday on Sunday. Sucks they are sharing the weekend with MotoGP and not having a Saturday race like usual I know trap speed doesnt really mean crap, but I was looking at Mays top trap VS Hayes top - Geoff was faster mph. Pretty cool. But unfortunately that doesnt determine the racer. Go ExBxR! Do well in qualifying! |

Very good result. He is only a quarter of a second off third! Hayes and Young are smokin' every one else. And he is giving up nothing on top end. Go Geoff |
