So I am gathering all the parts I need to do a tail swap to my Firebolt. I the battery strap the same on both the lightning and firebolt?

Correct. Odds are you are not going to be able to get it on anyway.

yup, mine hasn't been on since I got my bike in January. . .

maybe should look at that as many times as my bike has been on it's side . . .

If I ever have to take mine off again I'm replacing it with velcrow or something. I saw a few here did that and it worked for them. It took 2 people and 20 minutes to get mine back on..

Here is a video that shows the easy way to install the strap. There is a reason the metal clip is shaped the way it is.

Good video and I'll try it, but the link didn't work. I searched for 'Buell battery strap' and found it. I don't see how to get a link, though.

ya know I haves seen several threads of people fighting with battery straps...and yet I think mine is the easiest thing in the world to put on and take off.
