Just put on a set of Memphis shades lowers on to help with an airflow problem my uly had, well let me tell you it was the best money i spent on this bike, now it's super quiet on the highway and no more buffeting. |

I wish they used polycarb instead of acrylic. I will NOT use acrylic for a windshield, it shatters like glass. |

I think we need to send someone over to AJ's to take pictures. Doesn't Court live around there? .. |

There are a lot of pictures on this site of Memphis shades installed. For example pictures >>> http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/472833.html From my order to PowersportSuperstore.com in ‘09 Code Item Qty Price Total PUMEM9890 MEMPHIS SHADES METRIC HARDWARE LWRS VROD/VTX18 MEM9890 1 $43.62 $43.62 PUMEP5810 MEMPHIS SHADES METRIC LOWERS PLAST CLEAR MEP5810 1 $18.62 $18.62 Sub Total: $62.24 Tax: $0.00 Shipping: $10.07 Grand Total: $72.31 I installed the shades and the Madstad "adjustable windshield system" at the same time to my bike. My windshield is one by Parrabellum (sic?). The air turbulence behind the windshield alone sucked, but when I went to the Madstad system and the Memphis shades, I became 100% pleased. |

I don't get turbulence behind the screen but the top of my helmet gets buffeted once I hit about 65mph. That's with the xt screen all the way up and forward on the palmer brackets. |

I put Memphis Shades on my Uly and found the air redirected up under bars and got me anyway. |

I had the same problem with the redirected wind with the Shades, so I got some lexan and built my own wind deflectors and attached them to the Shades brackets, very nice addition. |

Whoa, Eulysses! You got us all excited about Memphis Shades lowers last year in a l-o-n-g discussion of the 'BENEFITS' of the lowers, and now you say they don't work! Errrrr! J/K, J/K, . . . . . . sort of! Actually I bought into your trial and error discussion that pointed out the benefit of lowers and bought some. I guess they work but I haven't taken them off to see if there is a difference. Too many things have to be apples to apples to test wind deflectors (wind speed, wind direction, cycle speed, gusts, etc.). Hey, they look kinda' cool and I 'think' they are working so they may as well be welded on! (Message edited by buellerxt on July 20, 2011) |

I find that I get more turbulence and noise behind my Madstad setup when I don't have my tankbag on. With the tankbag, things are pretty calm and clean. |

They helped Buellerxt. But then (never satisfied) I noticed air forced up under the bars was strong. Check it out with your hand on the highway. So like Smokey I modded. I added an extension of Lexan down from the windshield on both sides. I have a big windshield which made me more sensitive to the Shades. Harleys use the shades and they work better with how their windshields line up with them. JMHO of course. Euly |
