Bill Warner rode into the History books at the Loring speeds trials in Maine this past weekend. 311 MPH on a sit-on motorcycle! A heavily modified turbo Hyabusa. |

311 MPH top speed is fast anywhere, even on a nice paved mile and a half runway, so it will be real interesting to see what it can do on the salt in a "Flying Mile" |

Yes, a very big footnote in LSR history. |

Terry, I doubt they'd be able to run anywhere near that on salt. Traction is key at such speeds, yes? What kind of tires do they run I wonder? Geez that's fast! Anyone have a photo of the bike? Fully enclosed front to rear wrap-around fairing? |

On the asphalt, he is running sport radials, which are illegal now on the salt for over 200 mph. |

There is a picture on Face Book somewhere, it looks like it meets the SCTA - AMA "must see the rider from the side" criteria. God that's fast, even for a short trap top speed type of run. |

It's a similar profile to Amo's Kawa. First thing I noticed is the sharp point on the rear, not a Kamm or rounded. Well, it sure works good. |

Extremely impressive and his first full power pass on the bike with some stiff winds. That is style of tail going on one of our bikes this year as well. Blake.Hard to say,but if he got decent salt he would fly,Amo was over 270 when he hurt his motor before the traps at Bville, still clocked 272..Bike is on this page. http://www.suzukihayabusa.org/forum/index.php?topi c=154951.50 |

I don't care who you are, 311 on a sit down motorcycle in a standing 1.5 miles is amazing---he put 40+ MPH on the existing record. Now that is astounding! |

It's just an amazing accomplishment and really expanded the boundaries for all the really fast bikes and riders. FMJ, you HAVE to go to the Mojave Mile for us. My thought is the traction on asphalt will get some decent numbers above what a lot of people have seen on the salt. If this is working so well at both ends of the US, I hope someone less lazy than me comes up with a criteria for 1 mile records so that Texas Mile, Loring, ECTA, Mohave Mile and whatever else is available have an SCTA or AMA type standard for the competition and Bike A of some particular class competes against the records of Bike B or C in the same class on whatever track the run. More bureaucracy, but it would make for a national or international record if it correlates with the Brits or others. |

The shape of the fairing resembles a goldfish and is the near perfect shape for a high speed subsonic vehicle....... |

Will be doing Mojave for sure this October, just not sure which bike as yet. Packets went out today for all us on the mailing list. |
