But I didn't see any chrome or fringed stuff in the catalog for it. It'll never sell. |

They are calling it a Buell Erik Buell Racing. One of you moderators should set them straight on that one! LOL!! |

Why in the world would they buy it? Why would anyone buy it from them? Go out there with a wrench and start seeing which 1125 parts fit on it. I'm getting an insurance quote. |

Correct or not, there's a 100% chance many people are going to refer to the 1190 as "a Buell". |

If they weren't, how else would they end up with a brand new in crate bike? |

It's listed as "Pre-Owned" I bet they just bought it outright from Erik Buell Racing to re-sell. The price is jacked up a few grand. (Message edited by Freight_dog on July 19, 2011) |

The only one I see under "pre-owned" is an '09 1125R and it has 3'676 miles on it,here. What you posted Freight Dog. http://www.whitesharley.com/PRE_OWNED_list.asp The 1190 is under New Harley Davidson Inventory not pre-owned inventory, here. http://www.whitesharley.com/new_vehicle_inventory. asp |

As long as the dealership cares about racing and performance and Buells, I see no problems with a Harley dealership carrying the new ones... There were, and are very good Buell types at various Harley dealerships. I'd love to see one of these up at Santa Fe Harley, and I hope they're working on getting one. Given that they're sponsoring a track day in Albuquerque, they're not quite the typical Harley dealership... |

The pictures on the dealer's web site are the first relatively clear shots I've seen of the hubless rear wheel. Neat stuff. |

irst relatively clear shots I've seen of the hubless rear wheel. What's a hubless rear wheel? I have to say it is a bit confusing for a HD dealer to be sellingt an Erik Buell Racing machine... Actually it's a bit anoying really, after they way the Moco shafted EB it's the last place I'd have expected to see one.. |

Moco != all the dealerships. I totally agree that many of the dealerships were terrible, and aren't suited to doing anything more complicated than bolting chrome pieces on a bike that sits in a garage. But there were, and are, quite a few HD locations that really do have people passionate about Buells, and as long as it's only those dealerships selling the bikes, I see no problem. Again, Santa Fe Harley is sponsoring a track day, and half the guys up there rent tracks on their days off to go have fun. Not all dealerships are clueless... |

Be mindful that there are significant changes between a Harley-Davidson dealing selling a Buell and selling an ebb bike. In the past ..... The "Buell carrot" was essentially hung in front of the wrong end of the "Harley horse". In too many cases dealers, for a plethora of reasons, were Ill motivated resulting in some of the unpleasant accounts manifest over the years. Harley deals react to " have to" ultimatums in a manner I'd expect many here would.. The deals in the end, witness the number of times dealers and groups of dealers have sued Harley, are independent businesses. As long as they meet certain prerequisites, generally capital, facilities and how they represent the Harley name, they are free to run their business pretty much as they see fit. It's similarly no secret that many of the best motorcycle dealerships in the USA are Harley-Davidson dealerships. Go figure. I'm from Topeka, KS so I thought all Harley deals were ( literally) the " best in the world" Erik Buell Racing dealers will be selected, in face are being selected, based on far more criterion than " must be a Harley dealer" Being a Harley dealer will neither exclude nor include any potential dealers. If they don't " get it" no brand, nor strength of association is a substitute. I expect to see some refreshing, long repressed, ideas and methods of dealing with and supporting dealers and customers. I predict an amazing and pleasing experience. This is my personal opinion. Court |

"I guess I thought they were $40k from Erik Buell Racing. Let me check....yep, I'm right. My question stands as written." Nope, youre not right. This is a Carbon Edition, its 44 (or maybe its 45) thousand dollars, not forty. So lets say its the lower, which i think it is, at 44k, this is only a couple thousand dollars more than MSRP Reasonable. Hell, I knew of some 1125s locally that were 2500 more than MSRP and that was on a bike MSRPd at 12,600. But again, YOURE NOT RIGHT. |

They are not $40K from Erik Buell Racing. You can not buy one from Erik Buell Racing. You have to buy one from a dealer. MSRP is 40K, a bit more for the carbon option. 'Manufacturer suggested retail price' is just that - a suggestion. |
