Buell pays & sponsors Reg to put on b-trax events to showcase the buell lineup & hopefully to promote sales of the bikes. KTM does the same thing with Reg. However were you aware that Buell will attempt to void your warranty for competing in these events? I was flabbergasted when I found this out, freakin incredible. |

Any clue what KTM's position on BattleTrax vs their warranty is??? Seriously, if this is true, it stinks. Wonder if the dealers are aware that they could be considered part of a conspiracy to defraud you of your warranty??? |

Newfie & Blake, you dont believe me? Call Buell customer service & ask to speak with Randall. This is no joke. Buell is denying warranty claims based on whether or not a bike has been used in B-trax. They claim its a "race" & bikes that have been used for "racing" have voided the warranty. Blake if you want details, email me as I really cant go any further into this here on an open forum. |

On the serious side, I wonder if BattleTrax is really considered a warranty voiding race? Having observed four BattleTrax events this year I find this very hard to believe. However, there is always the possibility. Can someone check this out? I would but I doubt if anyone would believe me if the results were negative. I feel someone with some credibility like "Anon" should investigate and advise. |

Buell pays and sponsers to have Battletrax set up,then VOIDS their warranty on any person who rides their Buell in the event!HHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMM VERY VERY INTERESTING! BUELL WARRANTY:EXCLUSIONS,This warranty does not apply to ANY motorcycle as follows: 1.Which has had any high performance accessories,or components installed or supplied by the Dealer or by any other person and which alter the manufacturers original equipment specifications, and any damage caused by the use of these accessories or components. 2.Which has not been operated or maintained as specified in the Owners Manual. 3.Which has been abused, altered outside of the original factory specifications, improperly stored or used "off the highway",for racing or competition of any other kind. So,ANY ALTERATION OF ANY KIND,will give Buell the excuse to void our warranties! I might add,My insurance company,American Family, also has an exclusion in it for motorcycle racing of ANY KIND! |

Ahhh...the suspense is building...Can't wait for the final episode with the exciting conclusion to be aired. In the interim, is it safe to assume that BattleTrax is not a warranty voiding situation for us mere mortals? It seems to be a nice educational activity. Almost an extension of MSF and Rider's Edge type activities. If not the appropo environment to discuss this topic, I guess the final episode will provide us with more finite detail. |

evry company out there that sells a motorized vehicle voids the warranty for almost the same things. Lets go look at them shall we. I bet the wording is almost exact. I'd have more fun reading war and peace!!!!!! |

I am not contesting you. I am just saying this ain't just a buell thing. It is an evryone thing. If you don't want to void your warranty don't go racing of any kind then. but it does come back to dealer support most times. Maybe I am crazy and stupid and all that. I was always taught there are no guarrentees in this life. isn't a warranty a guarentee sort of. Man I hate winter everybody has too much time to sit and think about stuff. I myself have never ran battletrax and more than likely I won't. Its just not my thing. It looks fun and all its just not my thing. I like the open roads better. maybe I am justa hard case. I have never worried about my warranty on anything I have ever bought and everything seems to be ok. whatever this is gonna get goofy so I am done on this topic |

Dyna, <Sigh>... Your title of this topic and your statements above clearly imply that any Buell motorcycle that has competed in a Battle Trax competition will be denied warranty coverage. You and I both know that is extremely misleading, and simply untrue. If you ever want your statements to have credibility and respect you need to be honest. You are not being honest. |

Interchanging two words, "will" and "may" can completely alter the meaning and implications of a sentence. |

3.Which has been abused, altered outside of the original factory specifications, improperly stored or used "off the highway",for racing or competition of any other kind. I would think competing in Battletrax would be grounds for voiding your warranty. Notice that even if your bike is completely stock and is used "for racing or competition of any other kind", that would void the warranty. Isn't Battletrax a competition? I am sure that there are lots of people who have done Battletrax and still had their bike covered under warranty though. |

I don't know the details, but I bet I am still right... I have tried to buy 3 houses. Two transactions went absolutely perfectly, the contracts and the lawyers were reviewed briefly, then never touched again throughout the transaction. The other transaction has a dishonest seller with an attitude. We excercised 80% of the clauses in that contract, and he took it in the shorts repeatedly. All sorts of fine print was triggered, but not until after the seller was changing contracts after the signature and lying about repairs done to foundation. You go after Buell with an attitude and a lawyer, and they will probably respond with an attitude and a lawyer. All sorts of fine print that is not normally a factor suddenly comes into play. No suprise there. Good for them. The whining, trolling, and constant attempts to bring everyone down gets old.
