I dont see any adjusters... how does one align this bike? Put new tires on, pulls slightly. Maybe loosen everything up and compress it some more? | ||

There is no adjustment, check your forks and triple clamps for true. | ||

Feels like the bike pulls just a little bit to the left. Forks look true. I guess I should take it in, eh? | ||

I should clarify. Bike has not been down, pulls slightly to the left, and is under warranty. Looking at the front wheel. The clearance between the right fork leg and the wheel, and the left fork leg and wheel, is slightly different. That could be the root of the issue. I'm gonna start by loosening everything up and bouncing the suspension some to try and center it. | ||

What part of the road do you ride on when this happens? Is the road grade flat or crowned? Is the road surface asphalt or concrete? Lane and tire ruts? An over inflated tire will follow anything in the road. | ||

tire pressure 36... I think the road crown may be the issue, but i feel like it did it on flat road too. I guess i need to do some more testing. Thanks for the leads. I'll update tomorrow. | ||

Find a flat parking lot for testing. Road crown throws it all off for sure. | ||

My XB9S did the same thing. I'll bet you have a wheel bearing that is failing. | ||

My front wheel bearing failed at around that and the rear failed at 8500. I would check to be sure it sucks being stranded. I learned to keep the power washer far away from the wheels. | ||

Is it possible that the bearings and/or spacer have been damaged when the wheel was reinstalled ? | ||

There is supposed to be a gap on one side of the front forks. I noticed that gap...if you use pucks on the axle be sure not to squish the fork ends together when you reinstall the pucks or you get some wicked stiction and probably cause some wear on the fork tubes.} | ||

bike was pulling before new tires, is actually better with the new tires. I have a tech looking at it right now. I'll let him know that the gap is normal. | ||

Suspension settings? Maybe the suspension is not set up the same on both forks???? | ||

I know this is probably giving you "Fitz" - just plain weird. Not a bent frame (check), forks same length, not bent (check), wheel spacers right (check) - we're running out of the easy ones... Hope you get this figured out. Please post when you do. | ||

Well, a very good local motorcycle tech (who has done a lot of work for racer friends of mine) says that there IS a slight amount of pull, but that it's so minor that it's not an issue. He said "I could pull the front end apart and put her all back together, but it's so slight that it might end up just as slight in the other direction." Said he found no signs of problems, damage, or anything that would cause handling or tire wear problems. He had it up on the lift, gave it a thorough once over, and test rode it. Said I should save my money. Didn't charge me a thing. |
