Sometime back someone speculated that it would be one of the tube frame Buells. Strange as it may seem, my S1 is viewed as Old Reliable (fugly bubbling paint and all) and my XB is The Big Question Mark. What's the highest mileage anyone has obtained on one of the old tubers? | ||

I know Buellistic's S3 has well over 100,000 miles with no major engine work. He says the heads have never been off. Tramps S2 has mucho miles as well. | ||

hopefully mine will get high milage :P i bought it with 3,200 miles on it 98 s1 it now has 4,500 miles and counting i ride alot! but it seems to have sat for along time so i keep having to repair minor things ohwell :P | ||

I think Tramp retired his after a quarter million miles. I haven't read him here in a while. Perhaps he is on some other bike? | ||

Dunno, but my XB (Uly) has been at least as dead-nuts reliable as my tubers. Which, incidentally, are giving me fits right now. Intermittent crank/no-start on the M2L, 5k misfire on the S2, and bleeding rockerboxes on the S1W. Uly? Just keeps pluggin' along  But I still love 'em all! | ||

Ratbuell, How many miles on the Uly? I had zero problems until it hit around 20-25,000 and then it decided to make up for lost time. Knock on wood, the S1 will continue to happily rattle my brains out at lights when the suspension takes a break from trying to finish off my kidneys! | ||

Tube frame Buells can use commonly available Sportster parts to keep running indefinitely. As I see it, the only way to kill a tube frame Buell is to crash or allow it to be stolen. | ||

Just under 30k. So far I've gone through a slew of tires; one belt; one 77 connector; one front rotor (warped); and fixed one clutch cable leak. Oh, and at 5k I put black seal rear wheel bearings in as preventative maintenance. Four non-maintenance items. Wait. Sorry. Five. My low beam bulb burned out while I was riding to Daytona in March. I can live with that. And it still has the OEM battery | ||

Mine was opposite from Steveford's. First year/20,000 miles was monthly dealer visits and failures. Then nothing broke til about 40,000. | ||

45,000 on my M2. Gordon Buele had over 100,000 on his S2 before he passed. | ||

70K on my 2001 S3T. Saddle bag repair, temp sensor, front rotor and a belt is about all I've had. Well plus the original paper rocker box gaskets. Also gone through a slew of tires and brake pads. No reason not to get over 100K! | ||

I know, I sorely wanted to go! The wife just had knee replacement surgery a few days prior to the event, so I had to stay close to home to tend to her. Next year... |
