I'm planning on buying a utility trailer. 5x8 is a pretty common size and there are some reasonably priced trailers in that size. Obviously one bike will fit fine on a 5x8 trailer, but what about two bikes? Is it likely that I'll be able to comfortably and safely put two sport bikes side by side on a 5x8 trailer, or should I look for something wider? |

I've seen three smaller sport bikes fit into one more than once. you don't want to know how many I've seen in a 7x14.... also depends a lot on if it's an open trailer or a van trailer |

It would be an open trailer--a mesh utility trailer with a fold-up ramp. Yeah, I've seen a lot of bikes wedged onto a long trailer. I had my SV1000S shipped from New York and it showed up on a trailer with 7-8 other bikes crammed onto it. The bike showed up looking great, though, so no problem with the tight accommodations. |

You should not have any problems.

5x8 is plenty wide enough. You can fit two on a 4 foot wide trailer, but tie down points become a problem. A 4x7 with front chocks would work great. |
