So I was out at MMP today testing out Version 2.2 after low-siding V2.1 a few weeks ago. Trying to take it easy to make sure I hadn't tweaked anything on my previous outing. After a couple of sessions, I decided to add a little go-juice. Opened the cap and WHOOOOSH!!! A literal geyser of gas blew out the top (no kidding) 6 feet into the air. Had to be at least a half gallon of fuel/vapor mix blowing out for 4 or 5 seconds. Caught a face full, completely covered the bike end to end, and made a wet spot about 10 feet across on the pavement. Using my honed critical thinking skills (after pooping my pants), I deduced that the frame had gotten rather HOT. Hot enough to superheat the gas so when I released the cap, the fuel instantly boiled and blew out the top. You've heard the story about superheated water exploding when you add something or give it a bump? Same deal, except a potentially spectacular explosion. I've never seen that before....neither had any of the guys around (who kinda freaked a little when they figured out it was gas and not water blowing out of my bike). And no, the vent tube wasn't blocked - - I checked. Maybe I should insulate the frame next time I pull the mill...ya think? Other than that, a good day at the track....

Hey stirz, what chock is that? And is it really stable? I would like one like that for the garage to park my bike in after I get home from work. |

Jeff, You need a vent bottle and breather line. I can leave mine in the sun and not have an issue, even in TX. Call me today to take pictures for you of my set up. |
