Boy is the 1190RS engine setup conservative. Just compression, a pipe and mapping. I would have figured that the 1125RR cams would be in order. Baby steps to perfection, I guess. | ||

If the U.S. KTMīs are on the german IDM standart than these bikes are for sure illegal in the AMA (as they are, followed the spirit of the IDM rulebook, are in the IDM too...). Because when KTM offer to sign in for IDM they claim to get an 8% tollerance quote over their measurements. The board of manufacturers/importers have given their ok, did not think that KTM would expand that in the way they had done it. 100.000 Euro ECM is legal, yes. welcome KTM at the AMA. | ||

This is a great BS.... If the U.S. KTMīs are on the german IDM standart than these bikes are for sure illegal in the AMA I'm pretty sure the AMA tech guys would have looked very closely at both the RC8R and 1190 to make sure they are within the rules for the series. They have had enough accusations of 'selective cheating' in the past to be pretty switched on now I think, especially where certain manufacturers are concerned. I hope both bikes go well this weekend as it is always good to see more variety and competition on the grid, so good luck to both teams. |
