I'm getting ready for my first weekend road trip on my Uly and I was wondering if I could get some suggestions for things to check on the bike first as well as good tools (& sizes) to make sure to bring with me. Thanks |

Check battery voltage after the bike has sat overnight. If it isn't near 12.7V (voltage at full charge), you may want to consider a new battery or at least see if you can get it to hold a full charge. Rear wheel bearing on drive belt side okay? Consider lubing or replacing. Inspect belt carefully. Check break pads front and rear. If you've not replaced the brake fluid, do that. Engine and tranny oil level, replacement? Oil filter? Air filter? Of course tires and tire pressure. Extra fuses. Check for rubbing on ECM and/or wiring underneath the seat. |

Chech/replace spark plugs? A tool kit with bit driver and bits that you may need plus other hand tools. |

Thanks Blake, I'm about halfway through that list, but a couple of the things are bit more detailed than I had thought about. The 20K service was done just prior to my buying the bike a few hundred miles ago, but some of that I'll probably re-check anyway. |

A spare relay is always nice to have. My buddy showed me a cool trick the other day. He wears his spare key on a necklace when he travels far from home. Saved him from walking more than once. |

Thank Ulynut. I always have a spare key but that is a good idea about where to put it. I might give that a try this time around. |
