Great interview! I'm very excited about the future of Erik Buell Racing with Geoff being so involved. I think we all have a lot of great stuff to look forward to in the near future.... Roll on the Maiden Voyage of the 1190. |

Awesome interview But . . I've got to say this: At the Craftsman Experience in Chicago, Geoff was far from approachable. Myself and the guys that I rode up from Indy with, tried to engage him in conversation, but he would hardly mutter any sort of response and sat with his arms crossed in front of him. This left a very sour taste in all of our mouths; whereas, Erik was the complete opposite as were the Erik Buell Racing elves. Everyone of them would engage you in conversation as much as you desired. |

Lots of good information. |

I have had multiple interactions with Geoff going back to his Jordan Suzuki days and he was always very cordial. |

Perhaps he was having an off day, but being limited in experience with this as our only interaction . . . meh. |

>>> But . . I've got to say this: No, you really didn't. What you ought to have done is give the guy the benefit of some doubt and let it go rather than make a public stink. It's likely that he was just out of sorts for one reason or the other, illness, death/illness in family, other serious concerns far weightier than being all smiles for you. |

Great interview Eric. Thanks for taking time Geoff. I hope everything works out for Mid Ohio with the 1190RS, or as soon as possible. |

>>>>>>> But . . I've got to say this If you did . . . . I've got 58 years of experience and haven't yet figured out the "got to" part of that. But . . .I can't argue with you other than to say in the many experiences where I've met Geoff, his wife, and his folks that not one of them has been anything but cordial nearly beyond belief. So . . . here's the way I see it . . . for 2010 Derek Jeter had a batting average of .270 . . . he fails miserably 730 times out of each 1,000 trips to the plate. Last year his salary, to fail most the time, was $33,000,000. Geoff spends the better part of his year making public appearances, under as much or more pressure than Derek Jeter (who by the way I think highly of) and in all those years . . . . we're registering a single complaint. It's a bit like tainting your kid's birthday party, this is, by reminding the assembled number how your son once failed a math test. See you may have WANTED to say it . . . .but the "got to" part doesn't fly. In addition, cognizant that I have the benefit of being a writer, I could have said it about 74 ways that were less obtuse. I'm not ashamed . . . . but I would have been if I'd said it. But then . . . . like the other times my mouth has sped ahead of my brain on Badweb . . . I'd have already apologized. Court |

Geoff was fantastic when my 9 year old went up to talk to him at Mid Ohio. He couldn't have been any more gracious or more professional. What a great ambassador for Erik Buell Racing! |

Myself and the guys that I rode up from Indy with, tried to engage him in conversation, but he would hardly mutter any sort of response and sat with his arms crossed in front of him. This left a very sour taste in all of our mouths; My guess is he was probably a little out of his element or comfort zone at the Craftsman show. He's a motorcycle racer and perhaps the stage, lights, cameras, crowd freaked him out a bit. If this is true, there's no surprise he wasn't going to be too outgoing towards you guys. |

Good job Ebear! You gave this interview a different and more personal color compared to the standardized moto-journo out there. I'm writing this from Waterford, Ireland (on vacation). I think you told me you lived here at one time, didn't you? @Geoff: In the vernacular of facebook: "we like"! Keep up the great work. I am really glad to hear that you have long term plans with E.B.R. Cheers! |
