Cant tell you how stoked I am on this set up. The Erik Buell Racing ECM and pipe made this the bike I thought it could be and more. Seriously when people hear it they are amazed! Thanks again Dean. Money well spent. |

The RT-4 sounds amazing. Be prepared to have strangers come up and talk to you about it all the time. RT-4 + Erik Buell Racing ECM = more fun than should be legal Welcome to the club. |

Hopefully Dean will still be doing this in 4-5 months when I can afford to buy those sweet pipes. |

It is a beautiful thing ... of beauty. Loud enough for 'ya? lil bit loud but WELL worth it as my commute is only about 60miles round trip. I personally have never heard a bike that sounds like a hot rod except this one. |

Nitto, it shipped today at 8 am to get polished. If all goes well, you will have it on time. |

Nitto, you are going to really enjoy the he'll out of that pipe. I have had my RT2 going on 9 months now and love every second of it. The sound BITCHEN, the performance value BITCHEN, and the look (in my opinion) BITCHEN! |

im looking at the rt-4 slip on and looked on ebr and the ecm only has an option for the rt-3, how would i go about getting the correct tune? would i just order the one for the rt-3? |

They don't have a specific tune for the RT-4 yet, so either their standard cal or the RT-3 will work. |

Standard race cal is very close. I wouldn't hesitate. Dean wasn't there an issue running the RT3 tune with RT4 pipe? |

It's down a little on power (138 instead of 143) but it runs pretty good. I've been swapping pipes around some and it's only noticeable on a dyno. |

Why not just get a PCV and make your own tune? |

Cost, effort, reliability. You can buy two pre-programmed Erik Buell Racing ECMs for the cost of the PCV, and still have change left over. The PCV doesn't change IAC controls, fan operation to make the bike run cooler, improve cold starting, change the "CT COLD" display, disables intake solenoid, or a dozen other things. If you want to tune your bike yourself, a programmable Erik Buell Racing ECM is only a few bucks more than the PCV. |

You really need a dyno tune with a pcv. So $300 + dyno tune cost. |

Since we're talking ebr race ecm's, why don't they have one for the RT1? Is it in the works? |

It's still there. Not sure of the timeframe now that the 1190 is in production. I haven't asked about it in a while since I found out about that. Last I heard, there were maybe 12 pipes for older bikes slated for testing/tuning. I have several more to send them if they have an opening. I'm also thinking about picking up the ecm for the stock muffler and doing some testing here with an MT-1. It's either that or do it myself and time is one thing I don't have a lot of to spare. Thought I was going to catch a break for a bit, I was wrong about that. Guess I should keep my mouth shut about where I'm at on builds. I don't know how many more I will end up doing. Never thought I'd build more than 20-25, then it became 50. Now, I'm headed toward 100 in a hurry. We shall see where this goes I suppose. For a guy building these at home, it's a lot of work although it has been pretty fun so far. The big question is, how much longer will it stay that way? |

So which race tune would you recommend for the RT1? the generic or the drummer? my understanding is that they will change the flash for you later on but you have to ship the ecm back and forth. |

Either the RT-3 or generic. The drummer uses slightly smaller tubing I think, so the flow will be a bit different. |

4 different pipes ordered this week so far, so yeah, it's still going pretty good. I might do a design change on it somewhere along the line, maybe another prototype. I'm doing an Aprillia RSV1000 over/under system right now, it's different. Not sure I want to do any more of them though, this one is for a friend. |

Yeah. Just a one-off job since this is what he wanted. I still enjoy playing around. It will mount a little higher than the factory race can he's got on it now. I found a scrape mark on it and he wants more lean angle. I just hope the bike actually has some grip left at that angle, we were both kinda surprised to see the grind/scrape mark on the shell. |

In regards to the RT-4: Is there a reason why the outlet is pointing slightly towards the ground as opposed to parallel with the ground or even pointing slightly up? Just wondering. |

Belt clearance on the left, symmetry for the pair puts them both at the same angle. There's not an easy way to point them up with the belt drive and guard in the way. Even with a chain drive it wouldn't really be possible. Pretty much a 45 degree angle is it, maybe a little more down but not much. |

Just got my #2 a few days ago, waiting for the reflashed ECM. I like the way it looks! Looks like the install is straight forward enough. Anything to comment on that? |
