Any differences in injectors between the XB9 and XB12? Anyone have any 12 injectors laying around they can get a part number off of? |

Nothing. Both bikes use the same injectors. |

Nevermind, I tried to fit my XB9 injectors in but they are not even close to the same size. They are like half an inch longer. |

The 2003 injectors are different than all of the others. 2004 and on are the same. |

Early XB9 racers in Europe used to fit some BMW R1150 injectors to their race bikes for more flow I think. I don't know which model or part number though but I'm sure someone here will know |

Jens knows I'm pretty sure, I believe it was him that posted in 03 that they were using them. |

XB12 injectors have the ports actually "aimed" down the throat of the throttle body where the earlier XB9 do a shot kind of straight out the end of the injector (kinda hard to explain without a picture - and NO, I'm NOT going to pull them for a picture!) |

Do we have Bosch part numbers, specifically the early 03 9R injectors? |

Cool! Maybe my rebuild will get new injectors too, heck everything else on the top end is getting replaced, might as well do the injectors too. |

Siemens Deka 4 for the later (found a post from EricZ about an upgrade he did). Not sure of the flow rate though, guessing 46lb/hr would work with a little tuning. Still no idea about the early 03 XB9 injectors. I think I have injectors for an XB12 that I can compare with or maybe I will just have to put my 12 throttle body on and use the injectors that we know about. |

From what I have gathered, it appears that stock injectors are about 30 to 32lb/hr EV6 type. I need to pull some injectors today and measure as well as check the connectors. I think the greatest selection will be with the "US Car" type of connector which may require an adapter to work with the Buell harness (adapters are everywhere so not a big deal). It also appears that despite the manufacturer stamped on the injector, there are two main real manufacturers - Bosch and Siemens. Looking at the Siemens fuel products PDF, it also appears that our fuel pumps are made by Siemens and that they have many in tank designs that might work on our bikes as well as replacement pumps to rebuild these parts. And in the performance world it seems that the Siemens are far more popular than Bosch, it also seems that the 48mm is more popular for the chevy based upgrades that I've mostly run across on the web. OK, here are some pictures. 2003 XB9 injectors are roughly 49mm long, newer style are roughly 33mm long which pretty much contradicts everything I've found. The newer style clearly have Siemens Deka stamped into the body and also have the directed spray nozzle.

I sent those pictures to http://fuelinjectorconnection.com/shop/ and got a reply that the shorter type are no longer produced but that he could supply a Harley type that should work in either 28 or 32 pound per hour. He also said the early style is a Bosch and that he has a replacement that uses a different connector and has an adapter cable, also in the 28 to 32 pound range. If you want one and want to avoid the Harley dealer, there is a place to get them. Another note is that the older style has an updated part number, search the forums if you want to order it from Harley. |

xb9 injectors = 4 spray direct down xb12 injectors = 1 spray direct on the intake valve ( to cold it ). front and rear injectors are different , one spraying to front the other to rear (Message edited by RoToR on June 28, 2011) |
