Picked up an 1125R with 6500 miles on it for 5k. Not without a couple little electrical quirks. I have a CEL showing up dealer is working with Harley Tech for a Fix because they replaced the ECU and it did not fix the CEL auxillary code they cant clear. Loose wire I would think somewhere. Also an intermittant speedo issue. I saw on the search someone mentioned a horn issue that triggered the speedo to malfunction. Pointers anyone? I wlll check the horn wiring when I get home. VSS (speed sensor) above the clutch, right side. What's the CEL error? |

mine was having a speedo issue where it would zero out every once and a wile, un-pluged it and cleaned the connection and haven't had the problem again yet. Just an idea to give a try. |

The lead to the horn came loose one time and shorted out and when I hit the horn button it popped the fuse which also knocks out the tail light and the Speedo. I replaced the fuse, replugged the horn connector and the problem has not reoccurred. |

okay update. I think its the VSS. The horn is fine and the tail light is fine. Thanks for the tips. I picked up the part at a Harley dealer. Suprisingly enough it was in stock 83.00. Thanks for the help. |

d adams its a p1601 code. aux systems error. The ECU allegedly was suppose to correct it. Still waiting for a response from HD. In the meantime Erik Buell Racing told me. "The aux system code is indicating a failure in the aux power circuit. Unless you bought a kit and added an outlet the wires just go to a plugged connector. Or the aux relay or wiring could be bad." Vss is done looks like it was the culprit for speedo error. Now just the aux code issue. (Message edited by freezerburn840 on June 27, 2011) |
