If you go for alaskaleather, be sure to order the nose strap. |

I use a sheepskin that I bought at Ikea for about $35. Looks like a sheep fell asleep on my bike, but it works pretty well, and makes a good pillow for camping. |

If you go for alaskaleather, be sure to order the nose strap. I recently modded my Alaska Leather sheepskin to accomplish the same thing; I added a piece of adhesive backed velcro at the front. Before, if you stood up at speed, the sheepskin would fold back on itself. Now that I have mine secured at the front, when the seat gets hot, I can stand up for a few seconds, the turbulence will dry out and fluff up the pile, and it's like a brand new, pre-cooled sheepskin when you sit down on it. That was a nice thing during my 102 deg. F commute home this afternoon. |

Ok, dumb question, we've got an ikea sheepskin for our cat. The little princess is tough on fabrics, and it's held up well for 5 years, so I'd consider it as an option for the Uly. No problem with it looking like a sheep was sleeping on my bike, I think sheep are pretty cute. How do you mod it to stay on the bike? |

My Alaska is a "Pillion 1". I found that size recommended on their site someplace (seems like it's a little hard to find) and it fits well. (Message edited by Hughlysses on June 20, 2011) |

I went to my local tanner and picked up an offcut for the seat, stitched two wide elastic straps for under the seat and there you go. Total cost about USD30..just an idea |

I have two for me, one without the nose strap and and one with. Also have one for the wife. They work great. Pillion type one up front and type two if you need one for your pillion. |

How do you mod it to stay on the bike? I sit my fat ass on it. And use a bungee cord over the back part, but I think my ass does most of the work. |

"what size alaska are you using?" Mine is stamped "Medium". Fits well and has stood up to more than 4 years' use. I definitely would recommend the nose strap as has been noted. |

Hugh, I modded mine by punching two holes in the front edge and tying in a loop of 1/8" elastic shock cord which I place over the rear tankbag strap. The corners still fold back when I stand up though, so I intend to add another piece of shock cord at the front corners. |

I got mine at Ikea. I have mine under the front of my seat and the triple tail holds the back when the Wife is not on the back. |

The shape looks odd on the Uly, but the same sheep skin gets used on other bikes. I bought a complete skin for $29 and cut it down.
