Before you want to create another sub forum visit the Old Skool section. The owners of M2s and S2s wanted their own section. Those sections sometimes go 3-4 days without a single poast. 100 potential owners, I don't think it's quite time to separate. I think you might have some 1125 owners putting 1190 parts on their dinosaurs. |

1190 section wouldnt be a bad idea, as they are so different from the 1125 |

May be prudent to think of an ERIK BUELL RACING section with an 1190RS sub forum. The "100 owners" is a non-starter. Check out most the forums here and you'll generally find robust participation from folks, like myself, who do not own the model. Within a very short period of time I have a hunch there may be more Erik Buell Racing bikes in the world than there currently are Buell Motorcycles. Planning ahead may be wise. I'd love to stick around and talk but I have to get to an Optimist Club meeting . . . |

Yes, and that would be the ultimate rebuke to Harley's "leadership-by-committee" approach. Only a matter of time before I have one of these Erik Buell Racing bikes in my garage. |

The Buell dirt bike has a section, and it never even made it into production. :-) |

>>>>Yes, and that would be the ultimate rebuke to Harley's "leadership-by-committee" approach. The key is not to get hung up on the rebuke part . . at this time, it's essential that Erik and the Elves focus on what they are doing and where they are going. In order to do what they are capable of they must absolutely avoid wasting a moment of time on any "we'll show you". Fact it . . Buell was like a motor with rags stuffed in 7 of the 8 headers for years . . now they are, and you'll be hearing more about this, "Fiercely Independent". That hasn't been easy either . . there's been not shortage of folks wheeling up truck loads of money with LOTS of strings attached. What you are going to see is the best of the best. The best folks in the industry are showing up at Erik Buell Racing. It's like assembling a band from the players at Crossroads Festival. It's time now to do great things. I'm excited. I've got two significant wagers on the number of bikes Buell will be building a couple years hence . . no clue as to what Erik has in mind . . but I have a keen sense of what's in his mind and I think I know where he's headed. This is going to be fun. |

The fact he did this independent is AMAZING! No one to answer to but himself and us. And to come out of the gate with such a machine is just awesome. |

This is one time I am happy I didn't get an 1125. I am going to stick with my XB9R till Erik comes out with something else. I am looking forward to the future of Erik Buell Racing. I have shown the 1190Rs to some of my friends that I ride/work with and they are exited and are looking forward to seeing what is in the future and these are R6 and ZX10 riders. |

The Mrs. and I will keep riding the 1125's because despite the ball and chain on the vision designing and building them, they are still great fun. Same for the xb and the x1. That being said, I imagine that we can always make room for the next generations when its time. Can't wait to see what the future brings. And on that note, I am going out to ride right now. I can read later.... (Message edited by ljm on June 14, 2011) |
