New to the site, but not new to motorcycles... Have owned my 2000 M2 for a little over a year now with absolutely no problems whatsoever! Great bike, lots of fun!!! My trying to sell it has nothing to do with how I feel about it.... Returning to school full-time leaves me little choice in the mater. GREAT BIKE! -SB |

Questions: 1) What all's involved with registering? 2) Why do you want real names, addresses and E mail address? 3) How secure is your website? 4) Do you sell, trade, barter,or otherwise misuse personal info in ways that might tend to piss one off? 5) Make me want to register...please! |

1. Not much, you enter an email address and name and username and receive a pw via email. There's a link on the main page, left hand frame, under "Your Account" at... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/ 2. To maintain the integrity of the board. You are free to block publick viewing of your profile information. It is an option within your profile's preferences. 3. Better than most. 4. Never. We HATE spam. We do not share any data unless it is used to specifically help YOU. Like if you are having bike trouble and need help, we might send your VIN and model/yr of bike to the relevent personnel who would then be better able to assist you. 5. If reading all the discussions and content isn't enough to make you want to join in, there's not much I can say, or would want to say to persuade you otherwise. You are perfectly free to lurk. The only thing registering will get you besides access to posting on all the other topics is access to the Rider's Assistance Network information. Oh, there is one other benefit, you can opt to receive copies of posts on selected topics/subtopics sent to you via email. Do NOT use a free service email for that. It will fill the meager capacity granted by free email services like yahoo or hotmail or such. Registering also allows you to send private messages to other BadWeB members, a convenient, spam proof way to email fellow badwebbers. Ciao, Blake |

Blake: Should we, in the spirit of candor, mention, at this point, that some of us are old assholes as well? Tell him about the Danish guy and all the Australians. That'll scare about anyone away. Can I fine a lurker?

Hmmm, would thoroughly enjoy getting a copy of that first B2Win. Wonder how to make it so. Please? "Guest Book (Please say "Hello" and let us know you were here.)" Hello, I was here. (Just trying to stay on topic a little.) |

I second that MikeJ! I wish I would have been around in those days. I think that there are alot of riders newer to Buells that would have most definitely subscribed. I have to wonder if the new breeds of Buell Bike Goodness would have been enough help to keep B2Win around? With the great machines, all the great publicity, and the obvious increase in ownership maybe it would be enough to sustain another go at a dedicated magazine?? I know I would subscribe! I have no idea what the cost factor of keeping a magazine alive actually is. Or how much reader subscriptions contribute to the overall cost. Obviously the advertising pays a big part. Maybe a higher subscription rate could help counter the smaller amount of advertising, I would still subscribe at a higher rate then most mags just to have a dedicated one and I don't think I am alone! |

Tripper: Careful. . . check with Road Thing and Henrik before stirring her who is Italian. Can you say 5'-0" All-American Basketball player from Park Slope???? Tell ya anything? Yesterday's news...my neighbors have been busted for making folks "offers they can't refuse". What would you do if a reputed mob enforcer sent you a letter suggesting that his development firm was interested in your house and was "suggesting" you seriously consider their "generous offer"? On the upside.....there's only been one crime in my neighborhood since I moved here! |

Court, Let me guess... the 'crime' was an 'unauthorized sonic boom in the middle of the night'??? Just guessing. Charlotte |

Nah....murder/suicide. Contractor apparently shot his wife once in the head with a .22 Colt Woodsman, duct taped he into a chair, turned the gun on himslef, popped himself in the forehead one time, and taped both his arm to the arms of the chair to die. Happened on Ward Hill. |

Court; It's good that there are old assholes around to teach us the ropes. I'm not sure what qualifies one as "old",though. I would consider myself an O.A.I.T. (Old Asshole In Training) as I fall into Reg's "Default Buyer" age bracket (B2W Vol. 3 issue 1 "99), so I'm definitely past the "Journeyman Asshole" category. Actually, for the tube frame Buells, I think "young" starts at about 40.Too early to tell for XB'rs.After poking through the archives,I have a few questionsfor anybody to answer) 1) Court-what is your tie with Buell? I know you had something to do with Battle2win. You know too much. 2) DaveGess-ditto, I guess (pun intended) 3) Blake- how did you get involved with all this? 4) General comment-(no,that's not an army guy)I've only been on this website about a week and it's the best out there-hands down. PS-last time I checked with Reg & Lora, there were plenty of Battle2win back issues available, although some of the early ones were photocopies. You can(hopefully still)contact them at 887-586-7339 C/O Thunder Press. |

ForMfell2112; Regarding the pinging- CHECK YOUR VOES!!!! I had the same problem on my '99M2, checked everything everone else told you to and found one of the wires INSIDE the potting compound broken at the spade terminal making an intermittant connection. I dug out the potting, recrimped the wire and sealed it up with RTV. Ran like a raped ape afterwards... |

1. Court and Erik were lovers. 2. Dave took pictures. 3. Blake was seduced by Buell but won't admit it.

Greetings all!, Just recently purchased a Buell, a 2001 S3 w/2000 miles on it. This is quite a change for me. I caught a little crap from my friends, but I know if I offered to let them take it for a ride they'd all jump on it. I have lots of miles on my last 4 Harleys, but this is a totally new experience. I still have my "geezer glide" to fall back on, but I'm impressed with the ride on this bike. Looking forward to the spring when I can ride over to the Buell / Harley shop in Waterloo. I see very few Buell's out here in the heartland and while my Harley Dealer is the best, they shy away from the Buells. Maybe that's why there aren't many around? Anyway, I’m just rambling so I think I’ll do some more exploring of the site. g u s m y s t e r

Hey, Gusmyster! If your friends really knew what you had they'd be green with envy. (We know.) Usually they don't figure it out until you smoke 'em out of a corner and leave them half a mile back. As for the dealer...get used to it. Your tuber's already an orphan, even from the factory. That's why we're here. Good riding! ck |

Heathman, Welcome and it's good to see another Tarheel Buelligan, especially in Lenoir! I was coming down off the Parkway one day last week, I was heading south on 321, and I passed a blue XB9R, who was heading north, somewhere just south of Lenoir -- maybe it was Granite Falls? Would've been right around noon time or so. Let's ride! Later. Greg |
