Wow. I understand the enthusiasm...but can we let the poor guy get ONE race under his company's belt? Good things come to those who wait... |

ok i have PREDICTIONS, nothing more nothing less RX (Race Cross)- base 1190RS...comparable to a 1198S type bike SX (sport cross)- sport touring ulysses replacement, or just an all out sport tourer AX (All terrain cross)- this one is FAR fetched, but i heard from the grape vine that someone on here spied a dirtbike prototype dirtbike at Erik Buell Racing headquartes....sp we will see Jake |

Hahahaha . . . or perhaps someone accidentally hit a carriage return and it is a revolutionary (can we say that word?) bike known as the . . . RXSXAX Sort of the Leatherman tool of motorcycles.

I'm interested in these as well, just for curiosity. The 1190RS is a BEAUTIFUL machine, but I'm not sure I cdan justify a sport bike, and not at that price. We've all heard Eric mention "more affordable" offerings, and he seems to have been very back and forth regarding sport-touring bikes through the years, so I'm crossing my fingers for something along the lines of my S3T with a little 1190 DNA inside it... |

I'd imagine they'll be a less exclusive version of the 1190RS, without ohlins, without mag wheels, etc. Then a sport naked based on that. And an Uly style bike. I liken the 1190RS to the Acura NSX of the 90s. The NSX was a sexy, capable sports car that didn't make much $$ for Acura, but it was their 'poster child' and generated a ton of buzz for Acura, which led to sales of their less exclusive models. |

Since Erik Buell Racing is buying their engines from Rotax, I'm sure they'll continue doing so. Rotax makes quite a range of engines, including triples. I can see Erik Buell Racing using an existing V990 with 139hp (in use by CanAm, Aprilia and KTM (AFAIK) -- mass produced so they're cheaper. This could be passed down the line to the consumer... Or, if Aprilia, KTM or CanAm are interested in making a mid size triple, maybe Erik Buell Racing could get in on the deal too. |

I don't think you'll see the V990 in an ERaRRR machine. The 1125 tooling already available, plus it's a stronger motor. |

My guess: SX - the Lightning model. Naked. Could be strikingly similar to the Typhon. RX - The 1190RS, but with mass produced suspension components etc. This model could be easily adapted to sport touring with bars and bags. AX - Adventure sport, like a Uly. |

Tpoppa -- true, the tooling is available, but EEBBRR has to rip the engines apart, rebore etc etc etc. Lots of extra man hours and therefore costs. Why not go with a proven engine that would likely be much cheaper? |

EEBBRR only has to rip the engines apart if they want to make 1190s out of 1125s. |

In the Craftsman interview when Erik mentioned RX, SX and AX, he also said something about an "Alternative fuel" motorcycle. I think that's the AX, not necessarily another Ulysses. My 2¢ Z |

And if EEBBRR wanted to buy 10,000 1190s from Rotax, I'm sure Rotax could retool their 1125 line. |

EEBBRR only has to rip the engines apart if they want to make 1190s out of 1125s. Right. And they already have a lot of R & D and racing information from the 1125, which was built to Erik's specs. I can't see him opting for the Aprilia mill. |

I agree, but I think we'll be seeing 1190s coming from Rotax, and not 1125s if EEBBRR is able to purchase engines in any significant quantity from them. If they're trying to make a $10-12K motorcycle, you can't have a bunch of time invested in throwing 1190 kits in all the 1125 engines after you get them. |

I am really hoping that at least one of the EBaRRR bikes uses the same 1125 motor. That way there is a reliable supply of parts without the need to go into a chrome castle. |

Get Rotax to change the 1125 engine to the 1190 spec offer upgrade kits, so when our 1125's need major work we just upgrade to the new spec |

And, perhaps most significantly, if EEBBRR wants to race competitively in AMA, they need their production bike to be very close to the 1200 cc superbike limit. To me, that says they'll be making 1190s. No slight against Geoff and the team intended there, but the podium isn’t in any danger of seeing them on it with the current 1125 based bike. It just doesn’t have the top speed necessary to win. |

You can thank HD for the 1125 being 1125 and not closer to 1200 by the way. |

You can thank HD for the 1125 being 1125 and not closer to 1200 by the way. Look, Harley Davidson has a lot of brand equity in the "1200" number, as well as the "883" number. To allow other people to build motorcycles with the same numbers would cause significant brand confusion with customers. I mean, if the 1190 was called a "1200," it would completely confuse everyone. You wouldn't know if the "1200" you were looking at was a True Genuine Harley Davidson anymore - it could be some carbon plastic Japanese knockoff using the same, world-recognized displacement. ... sorry, can't continue in that line of thought. And I would totally rock an electric Buell. |

also it was destined 1125, becuase when erik initially started designing the 1125 the cap on twins for superbike was 1000cc, so he had NO purpose to design an 1190, he wanted an engine that had great power and a flat torque curve while still being reliable, compact, light, and powerful...and 1125cc ended up being the perfect number at the time. or so i was told...i do not know if ALL of it is fact but i know some is (like 1000cc superbike rule, hence the ducati 999) lol Jake |

" If they're trying to make a $10-12K motorcycle" This is funny How many bikes in this class are that expensive anymore? Those days are gone. Big 4 literbikes, as well as s1000RR, are msrp for around $13-14k. Youre a moron if you think Erik Buell Racing will be able to build bikes for less. Heck, even the 1125s were $12k two years ago. I wish it was so, I'd love to get a $10k (USD) sportbike from Erik Buell, but I think you can get those figures out of your head. site looks good, looking forward to those new models that are coming out |

I wonder if we can convince HD to buy about 10,000 Erik Buell Racing bikes, then have another firesale. Hell, they have done stupider things like bought a motorcycle company, restructured it, then sold it back to its original owner for $1. |

very true froggy, but as long as KW is in charge I doubt that'd happen. That whole MVA thing was a Fup from the start |
