With all the BadWebbers at Homecoming, and presumably at the race, are there any reports, photos, comments, questions?? Geoff qualified and finished 10th Saturday, started 10th Sunday, but according to live timing he had a 'mechanical' on the last lap and a DNF....Anybody know what happened?? Man I can't wait to see Geoff and Erik Buell Racing field the 1190!!! |

I saw Geoff pull the bike over on the last lap on sunday after turn 5 going up the hill. It honestly sounded like the bike just turned off. Saw Geoff hop off and just shrug his shoulders. No idea what actually happened but the sounds that bike make compared to everyone else there were amazing! |

It seemed to me that every time the bike came by it was sounding worse and worse. I am interested to find out what happened! |

After watching the race today from my DVR, Geoff still finished 13th. So I really I guess I am still confused as to what happened... |

Here's what Erik Buell Racing posted on their Facebook page this week: "On Sunday we tried a few changes that didn't work, and a gearing change wound up putting the bike at the rev limiter repeatedly. Almost made it anyway, and ran right behind the Kawasaki, but broke on the last lap. Our first DNF and hopefully the last. But wound up with some points anyhow, and are in tenth in the championship." |

Geoff finished 17th,not 13th in the second race, the results on tv were wrong, I guess they did not update them after the last lap . |

It was a good bet . . . and one worth making. The guys had an idea that might hold the key to getting Geoff a much needed 2 MPH to help overcome some of the large HP deficit he was dealing with . . . he needed to be just a smidgen further into the corners to dispense with a couple folks. Erik stayed and worked on the bike Saturday night and they knew it was a roll of a dice. . . good case of a gamble that nearly paid off . . . tough luck but the data gained was invaluable. I'm kinda laughing . . . it's too bad it didn't quite work but I remain amazed with how intense Erik is about racing . . . I'm betting it's been a lot of years since the CEO of a motorcycle company was missing dinner to wrench on a bike. He'll grow up . . . . er, next year? Worse yet . . on Sunday . . he does his thing at the track . . . races the family home . . heads to the shop and works the night away. RELENTLESS. |

Would be interesting to hear about what the weak link was and what if anything can be done to strengthen it. |

I was confused, because I saw Geoff park it against the wall after turn 5 on the last lap and had no reference as to his position. When I saw the race on TV they said he finished 13th, I have since found out that (as said above) this wasn't true. Just simple confusion I guess... I would also like to know what happened. I had thought about asking E_B_R on facebook, but I didn't wanna overstep. |

Just one more addition: He was up to about 10th or 11th at one point. Soon after though, the bike was sounding a bit off. More and more so each lap. |
