Thanks everybody for the tips on exhaust. Now i'm wondering if using ecmspy which i think is free except for the cable, see vtwintunerconnection.com, is better than going with an ERB race ecm? I'm barely computer literate so i don't know if having the ability to program my ecm from my laptop is a good idea or not. And what is a TPS and why would i need to reset it? | ||

All they are selling is just the cable, you can get it from a number of places including American Sport Bike and Ebay or make one yourself. The old ECMspy is discontinued but free software you can use to alter your ECM and perform TPS resets. Is it better than Erik Buell Racing ECM? Apples and oranges. You will still need the cable and software to reset your TPS anyway. What is the TPS? It is the Throttle Position Sensor, it tells the bike how much you are twisting the throttle so it can add the right amount of fuel to your motor. If your TPS isn't set correctly, it will not receive the correct fueling, and as result may run terribly or not run at all. If you swap the ECM, you will need to do the reset so the bike knows where your throttle is at "zero". | ||

After TPS resets, the idle speed needs to be adjusted. Do it while the motor is well warmed up, otherwise it'll be too high when you do warm it up. | ||
