Just picked up a GoPro HD Hero 960 a couple days ago and I've got a mounting question for anybody that has one... Is the roll-cage mount suitable for our forks (high as possible under the front fairing)? I'm thinking that mounting the camera there would give a great overall view. The only thing I'm concerned about is the exposure - it might be a bit bright because the camera will compensate for the shadow caused by the fairing... Any thoughts? | ||

I have bar end mirrors on my CR, so I mounted mine off the leftover mirror bolt hole using a RAM 11mm mount. I never found any other location that worked very well. You could try the suction mount on the fender. | ||

Fairing mounts seem to be OK, or high on the fork leg. There was a post where someone had mounted to lower leg - which actually looked OK, but picked up all the road bumps. Be sure to back up that suction mount if you use it!! Saw one pop off another guy's bike last track day and skitter by me in the middle of a turn. He had mounted it on his fairing - good footage, especially after it popped off!! | ||

I rigged up a fork-mount on my XB9SX using just the GoPro housing and zip-ties. It wasn't elegant, but it worked. Careful where you mount it so that if the forks get fully compressed the camera doesn't get hit by front fairing or fender (ask me how I know!) On my 1125R I have the side fairings and used the suction cup to mount low to the side to capture the front wheel travel. I also used another GoPro on the rear seat cowl to get a "MotoGP Butt-Cam" view. Used Magix HD video editing software from Best Buy to do the picture-in-picture. | ||
