I have a PCV no auto tune. I have a Barkers Exhaust, K&N Filter. When I took my bike to the Dyno with the Barkers Exhaust and K&N Filter it showed 127 at the wheel and that it was a little rich. After I installed the PCV and put a map on it and dyno'd it I was at 139 HP and still a little rich but better than it was. My buddy said that he could tweak it a bit more to get a bit more horse power and smooth out the curve a bit better but he would need 4 hours of time and I'd have to pay him for the time. Which I was going to do but he closed his shop after his wife got transferred out of state. My friends BMW 1000R put 189 at the rear wheel on the dyno. |

My friends BMW 1000R put 189 at the rear wheel on the dyno. Is that not a generous dyno? |

Bueller, I have read numerous magazine reports showing the S1000RR puts out about 180 initially at the wheel and they usually top 190 hp after a few thousand miles. |

Add your mods to the bike, Ride it around with stock ECM and no PCV..... once the Adaptive fuel adjusts to its maximum , then add the PCV and make adjustments... Only issue with the PCV is not being able to separate the cylinders for individual fuel needs.. it adds fuel Globally or reduces it Globally.. In my experience the rear cyclinder needs adjustment separate of the front cylinder. I also have the autotune, and after playing with it, decided the autotune is a waste of money.... Its not bad to initially setup the tune from scratch... but then you MUST shut it off, or it will constantly chase its only tail , so to speak, and screw itself up.. |

Stevek1125r, at what point do you know when to turn off the autotune? I'm trying different performance mods so I'm wanting to use the autotune, rather than spending lots of time and money on the dyno. |

FWIW I have the AT-300. It allows for tuning of both cylinders separately. I am hoping that they will release a model of their ignition module for our bikes. It can work with the auto tune and adjust timing. |

Kinder, do you feel that the AT-300 works good for you? How long did it take to autotune? Did you turn autotune off after a while? Does it improve power? |

Redbat: I haven't installed mine yet. Want to do some dyno stuff first then install. Will be posting results though. |

For those that have installed the autotune, which O2 sensor port did you use? (Asumming you installed the AT-200). The front or rear exhaust sensor port? (Message edited by redbat on June 05, 2011) |

Power Commanders have option in menu for advanced map which will give you front and rear cylinders. But you need to be able to "sniff" both. If you had some 02 bungs welded in--I do on our 1125--you can do this. |

Don't the 09 have bungs up top for both front and rear already? That would make that plug and play for me then. How hard are these to set up? EZ |

Ed what Jim is talking about is where the Dyno 02 bungs are, we have one of the Buell Factory header pipes so there are 4 bungs one for each cylinder to the ECM and one for each cylinder for the dyno. We will be using that header to develop some custom DJ PCV maps for different exhaust, terry@jtsperformance.com |

Ah - 4 bungs all together - a lot of wires to not burn - that's pretty cool you go to that trouble, and fun - who has a Ti slip-on? A tune for such a thing would rock, to loose all that weight on the bike. EZ |

when i used the auto tune i disconnected the factory o2's and removed the front O2. i installed the WBO2 in the front cylinder since it is the easist. Do not try to auto tune and use the Factory O2's it will screw up... infact if you use the PCV just remember your factory O2's are now only being used as plugs for the exhaust ... |

Bueller4ever - From Everything I've read this is expected on the BMW S100RR Stevek1125R - Did you ever get a Front o2 Sensor code when you installed your PCV? I get it every now and then. |

How long does it take for the Auto-Tune to "tune" before it should be turned off? It's been stated that if it's left on too long it starts to "chase it's tail" so to speak. |

Rebat, if you use the autotune... do this, take the bike out for a long ride through city traffic and nice country roads.. log atleast 200 miles and see hwo the bike feels at the end of the ride. if it feels great to you, then log into the PCV, and accept the adjusted parameters. if you notice any values are in the 20's then it might still need a little work... If you have ALOT of cells in the 20's then go for another long ride... Once you get the autotune adjustment valvue done to single digits in most cells, turn off the Autotune and enjoy the ride... Don;t forget to save each map between adjustments. that way if the autotune makes adjustment that reduce performance, you can always go back. |
