Man I'm envious. I've been drooling over the XB12S for awhile. I want one now. I don't have the room for two bikes and I can't seem to part with my speed triple yet. I'm thinking I'm gonna leave it on the street with the keys in it. Until then I'm salivating over your pics and stories. |

I sold my '99 M2 last year so I haven't been on the board for awhile, but I just picked up a 2003 Firebolt so I'm back in. I remember filling out a kind of survey here on the M2 and I would like to update it but I don't know where to look, if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be gratefull. I had a great time with the M2, 25,000 miles and maybe a dozen track days. I'll always wish I hadn't sold that one. I also have a fantastic dealer (HD Buell of Bloomington). With all of the whining you see alot of places I want to give credit where it is due. |

I owned the other brands. I swore to never own a Buell. I guess I was young and dumb. At the age of 41 I returned to the sport and bought a Firebolt. Since then I have spoken to and been helped by some really nice people. To name a few, Brian Nallin, Aaron Wilson, Dave Stueve and Scott Berry. I've visited The Dragon and met dozens of people that rode faster bikes, but flocked to the Bolt just to talk about it. Yes there's more to this sport than quickest quarter mile or greatest top speed. With the Buell I'm part of the group, not King Of The Hill. Who knows... maybe I'm just growing up? Thanks everyone, Sam |

Figure since I've already started posting I might as well sign the guest book. I've got an '03 9R and it is awesome. I've been riding for a little over 20 years and have always owned Hondas. My last one was many years ago. It was an '87 CBR600F Hurricane. That bike was a lot of fun. Sold it about seven years ago and decided it was time for another one. Went shopping all around and didn't really like what I saw until I saw a Buell at a local restaurant. I went into the Harley dealer and fell in love. They had four 9Rs and only one was white, so that's what I got. I've got just over 4000 miles on it since July 17th and I'm sure I'll have many more. Lately, I've been getting in little discussions with the rice rocket set and it's a lot of fun. Guys on Hiyabusas and RC51's. They all talk about how down on power the Buell is. I don't think so. I don't have a need to go 150mph, so I don't try to compete there, but I have a blast pulling hard in the low end and cornering tighter and harder than they do. This bike is SO much fun. The only things I'd change are: mirror stems (I know they're new for '04), seat padding (gonna buy the touring saddle), and headlight. Nobody can see that little eyeball headlight. I leave my brights on 24/7 just so that people know I'm there. Anyway, whoever runs this forum: Thanks. This is a great site and I'm going to become more than regular here. Be Safe Out There. |

Hey folks, I just joined the Buell crowd. I picked up a Millenium X1 Lightning from a guy needing to get rid of it. The look appealed to me, so I bought it. I'm a loyal Harley big-twin guy, so I don't feel like I'm cheating when riding the Buell! For those of you with any insight on the Millenium models, or just some useful links, I would appreciate it. I'm not a hardcore sport biker, just a guy that liked the looks and thought it would look nice in the garage beside the car I never drive! I'm sure you all know what they look like. But just in case you don't>

Sweet! Check out the Knowledge Vault. Most all the info on 2000 thru 2002 DDFI tube framed Buells is applicable to your Millenium X1. |

MilleniumX1...Also check out the X1 Files at http://www.saintjohn.nbcc.nb.ca/Marriott/x1/ Is a homologation of tech info from the BWB and a number of other sources. Also has links to the aftermarket manufacturers. Is a quick, easy read and definitely worth your time. |

Bad experience with a 2001 Buell Blast. Will never buy a HD product again due to a bad dealership, a lemon bike, and bad HD customer service. My problems with the Blast: oil leakage from the rocker, burned out ignition module, valve dropped causing the cylinder to screw up. Had to fight the HD Company to get things fixed for free. BTW the bike only had 9000 miles on it. The air cooled single cylinder enginer is not a good design. I hope the rest of the Buell line is better. I now own a Victory and it runs great. |

Hi--Choppee here, I recently bought a 1998 S1 Lightning--Molten Orange/Nuclear Blue. It was the personal bike of a HD dealership owner and had never been registered so technically I'm the original owner of a 6 year old bike I just bought--go figure... The only significant mod it's got is a very nice and expensive Penske shock. I just scored a NIB Carbon V&H pipe for around $130.00 so I'll throw that on for a while while I try and figure out what race header type set-up I'm interested in. Oh yeah, it's got a CF rear fender, CF heat shield, CF ham can air cleaner, Storz license plate relocation kit, and a Storz steering damnpner. I've had the bike a few months and have been searching for a Buell website that has good people and good info. and you guys are it. Thanks, Choppee |

Welcome Choppee. Don't get too attached to the carbon fibre vance and hines... your bike may eat it for lunch in short order. Some people seem to have decent luck with the vance and hines pipes, but a lot of others have a pretty short life cycle with them. Pay a lot of attention to how you mount it, and inspect it regularly so you don't go pole vaulting. The supertrapp IDS, Buell Race IDS and D&D's seem to be the only ingestion proof cans. Awsome bike and very cool sounding mods! The shock in particular is a real gem! |

I recently obtained a 2002 1200 X1 Lightning in a trade for snowmobiles. (I figured the bike would be easier to sell). It is "Like New" and has only 2200 miles on it. Extras include White Bros. pipe, performance chip and polished pulley. Stock pipe & chip are also with it as well as the owners manual. Need money....whats it worth? |

Now that Battle2win is dead and buried, where can we go for REAL techie info? Any suggestions? |

Anon, What about back issues? Why did Battle2win fall off the presses? I really enjoyed the couple of issues I have. Ken |

Ken: I can answer that.... Money and the stark rality of economics. B2W was a slick, well produced, mag that had the best paper and color. The Buell #'s simply don't support it and Reg was smart enough not to apply for 501(c)3 status. The magazine was a bit irreverant, reliable and opinionated without being rude or vindictive. The "big boys" should steal a page from the "Reg Rulebook". The above are the reasons I've always enjoyed working with and for Reg....I miss writing for him. |

>>>Great idea, just as long as it is Ebay and not Egouge. Better idea, in retrospect, was asking Reg to send a case of the first issue to spread around to get the word out. Good part of the box is still sitting somewhere.....buried in the "Buell Basement". Court |

Court- OK, so Reg got tired of investing his hard-earned $$$ in the finest bike rag on the planet. So how about YOU ALL keep it going ON LINE?(BADWEB?) It couldn't cost near as much and the techie stuff we'd want to keep we could print out. Drag Kip away from Custom Chrome and handcuff Reg to his keyboard and we'll all be good for a while. Honest! |
