One of my header pipes recently broke in half while I was riding. Because one of the pipes was broken taking the pipes off was extremely easy. Now that I have my headers back from the welder I'm having a hell of a time re-installing them. Do I have to rotate the engine as I've read for other bikes? Also, My headers are 1 single piece.. straight piped, so it makes maneuvering the pipes even trickier because the bottom part where the muffler would be is hitting the shock when I'm trying to install.. Any help would be a great help! Thanks | ||

not sure if M2 has O2 sensor or not, but removing it during installation sure helped me install my force hope it helps(someone) | ||

no there is not O2 sensor, unless you are running EFI. I have a carbed M2. Hopefully this isn't super obvious, but you need to have the muffler off. I usually slide the rear header in between the frame and the engine, then once the end of the rear header clears the frame you should be good to go. What seems to be hung up? Do you have a pic of the stuck pipe? That might make it easier to explain where you might be going wrong. | ||

From what I've seen.. most of these have a detachable muffler. Mine is a bit trickier because my entire exhaust is one piece. Header all the way out. So, where the muffler would be is not detachable and I keep getting caught up on the shock under the bike | ||

Your welds would only have to be the slightest amount off to make it very difficult to ever get them lined up again. | ||

The pipes should have been welded while they were on the bike to assure proper alignment. There is a good chance that the heat from welding may have tweaked the header. You may have to compare your pipe to a proper header. |
