"One small comment that no one seems to have noticed in this thread...the bike is not a Buell 1190RS, it is an E.B.R. 1190RS" I am of the thinking that no one mentioned it cause we knew that already, that its common knowledge. But whatever. Wolf - is that when the 1190 is supposed to debut now? Man I really cant wait to see it race and see how it does. Its been stated before on other threads - there will likely be some teething wtih the bike, not expecting domination from the start, but I think people are going to be shocked from the get-go by this small american company. Im stoked. Waiting sucks. |

Though this was the rumored weekend of the 1190's debut, I an still looking forward to watching the Erik Buell Racing team mixing it up at Infineon! Geoff and the 1125RR are still a force to be reckoned with, and the track seems well suited to VTwin power, so I wager they'll put in a respectable showing, and make us all proud. GO Erik, Geoff, and all the gang! |

I'll be at the track all weekend, was there today for the track day and tonight for the drag races. The paddock is starting to fill up. Back tomorrow for more after our tour of Marin County with a couple of friends from SoCal. More tomorrow |

Yep, still there. Tuesday 11:32 http://www.facebook.com/search.php?q=erik+buell+ra cing&init=quick#!/permalink.php?story_fbid=1015016 1120747923&id=79637702922 Miller's going to be tough because all the other riders were just there getting some laps in and it's only one race. We shouldn't get our hopes up too much since there will be a lot of work and not much time to get things figured out. Road America will be a lot more interesting and should be pretty crazy with all the Buell faithful that will be attending. Still, I'm not expecting results much better than around 8th place for the next few races and maybe a gradual improvement from there. In this field, 5th place or better before the end of the year would be GREAT! |

Ok, so I am trying to decide if I can make it to Road America or not. Would love to but the one thing that might just push me over the edge on going is Is the 1190 going to run at Road America? |

I would figure that Infineon was the 1125's last superbike race if Erik Buell Racing is running a 1190 at Miller. Unless Erik Buell Racing can't keep up with the AMA hologation rules...which could be a problem for such a small outfit. From what I hear, they have "elves" trying to keep the production up on the 1190rs. |

http://www.amaproracing.com/rr/news/index.cfm?cid= 42847 By: Erik Buell Racing This past weekend (May 14-15) the AMSOIL Erik Buell Racing Racing team competed at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California for race 2 of the AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike Series. Geoff May and the AMSOIL Erik Buell Racing Racing team performed exceptionally well, placing 8th in Saturday’s event and 12th on Sunday’s. “Overall, everything went smoothly. We never were able to quite optimize the suspension to the Infineon track, and had a tire balance problem on Sunday.” stated Michael Tjon, Race Team Manager. “But the AMSOIL lubed engine ran perfectly all weekend, and Geoff’s performance was outstanding. He was never tired and willing to try anything”. The 8th was the best race finish for the 2011 season and is bringing even more anticipation for the Erik Buell Racing 1190RS bike to enter the circuit. “I’m really looking forward to riding the 1190”, said Geoff May, “We’ve been looking forward to competing with it for over a year now and believe that we will be able to run further up front with its capabilities.” Michael Tjon adds, “When we first bring it to the track we will be basically racing the street motorcycle, and will refine it going forward. But from our initial test rides on the street Erik Buell Racing 1190RS, we know it is fundamentally a significantly superior motorcycle to the Buell. We may be quicker right out of the box." |

I'm a Buell fan to the end, but I love the way that sounds. Buell was what it was, but Erik Buell Racing is something the same in spirit, but completely different. |
