Hi I once saw a tuber with a GSXR tail. Can anyone point me back in that direction. Tried thumbing through the archive photos and can't find it. Any help would be appreciated. |

I have wondered if that airtech tail could have the bulges sanded off of it for a smoother look? |

I met a guy from NJ at Rolling Thunder 2yrs ago that had a black M2 with a CBR tail on it. It looked very clean and professional. He was on the Board here but I believe sold the bike |

Member here named Tavs did a R6 tail on his M2, post from Aug 17, 2002 discusses cutting the Buell tail off and welding tabs to bolt the R6 tail on. He did the work in Nov of 2001, seems like a '01 tail was used from the donor bike as well: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/25/ 14665.html?1029631932 The post by Tavs about halfway down is where it starts, I'm still looking for pics, his profile is active but unused since 2007 and the pic there isn't of a Buell at all. So I'll keep looking. I always liked that Airtech photo, sure is old, but the girl just keeps on bein' HOT. |

i thought it was from a cbr600rr. Not sure, i dug it out of the pic archives. Personally its not my thing, maybe if it had some more angle upwards it would be ok. I prefer my 97 m2 tail for now |

Thanks Guell, that was the photo I was looking for. I think the triangular piece under the seat and tank is what ties it all together. After I mocked up the 06-07 GSXR rear tail and sub frame. I realized that I will have to cut off the M2 sub frame and weld on a plate and brackets. Also the battery will have to lay horizontal and I will have to fab up some sort of oil tank above the battery. I can stuff the electronics in the empty battery box underneath the seat. Here is a mock up before I bought the subframe.

Looks like a good looking woman with a missing tooth! Now got to chop and re-weld the tail section with the GSXR sub-frame.

Chopped and re-welded the tail sub frame and bolted in the GSXR pillion support.

Looking pretty clean, thank for the updates! Keep posting up pics. When I refabbed and welded my sub-frame I didn't cover up the belt and dropped a bead right on the middle of it. Lucked out, the drop hit dead center of a tooth and has held up fine for the last seven years. |

Thanks! I bought a fire blanket for welding, just in case. Gonna work on a oil tank in the triangle area below the seat and a fuel tank from an old sportster peanut tank. Trying to keep with the visual lines of the Buell. |

Lookin good. Keep the updates coming. Your work=rate seems far quicker than mine. I had room for the oil tank under the seat. Johnny |

Been busy a heck these past months. All I had time for was buying parts. Got the crossroads bar, rear pillion cover, american torque short adjustable levers, force winder air cleaner, exhaust, Z1000 headlight and cowl on. Started mocking up the wiring. Can anyone send me a close up pic of how the oil lines are routed on the right side, please?

Also got a smaller tank. Need to shape the front end of the seat to mold into the top of the tank. Kinda like an S1. |
