I don't do that much anymore. My commuting route is all highway now, and coasting on the 1125R is only good if I can get down below 20mph to restart and pop in 2nd. The bike hates shifting into gear at higher speed, and trying to bump start it at speed doesn't work well either.

I changed my commute route to avoid lights, stops, traffic, and other things that are detrimental to my fuel economy.

Correct. I am running high 40s PSI front, low 50's rear.

The pipe alone won't net you a measureable fuel savings. My 55MPG R runs the stock muffler. But, if it helps you justify getting the new pipe then go for it!

I do plan on getting a Zero S when funds permit. Another plan of mine is to get a Buell X1 that needs motorwork and then to convert it to electric.

Yep. I try to live by that as much as possible. I can't justify buying a bike to not ride it as much as possible, so I make the most of what I got. I don't care what you ride, just get out there and ride it as much as you can. Year round, rain or shine, even in the snow, get out there and ride the thing!

Doesn't just about any other motorcycle get better mileage than a high hp v-twin?
Nope, the 1125 does good for a high performance 1000cc+. I have been meaning to enter it in the local hypermiling races, I am sure I can hold my own in the literbike class, but I would probably bring my 75mpg XB12 to ensure victory |

How come my tires never look like that? I should buy a set of tires from you and trailer my bike a few blocks from the usual Friday night parking lot gathering and pretend I am a super aggressive street racer  |

I bet you didn't get anywhere close to 55 mpg on the day you did that to the tire.
I tried drafting behind a truck (@ 70 mph) today for a while, my instant display was as high as 58 mpg but averaged 52 or so. |

I drove mine like crazy and got 40 mpg(with Erik Buell Racing ecm), gotta love a bike that can go 0-60 in less then 3 seconds and still beat a prius in mpg. I didn't capitalize prius because i have no respect for it. haha
froggy, i have respect for your mpg, i am to tempted to grab the throttle to get 55 mpg, i don't know how you do it.

I am getting 30 to 32 mpg with my CR with Ebr Ecm and Barker. Was getting 36 to 38 mpg all stock. |

To pass epa reg's they usually lean out the bike, which means more air less gas, the ebr tune richens it up the way it should be, which means more gas, but the engine is happy. |

With the stock exhaust and stock ECM, the bike was going 120 miles before the fuel light came on. It came out to 28 miles per gallon driving gently. Put Barker exhaust with Erik Buell Racing ECM for the pipe and went to 35 mpg. I have seen 38 mpg a few times. I think the Erik Buell Racing ECM increased the fuel mileage on my 08 1125R! I can go about 160 miles before the fuel light comes! |

My dash indicates 28 mpg's...I have a barker exhaust k-n filter and fuel solutions ECM tune. |
