Has anyone does a low seat themselves? Just trying to be cost-savvy. I'd imagine it's essentially removing stables, cutting foam and restapling/glueing. Am I right? Surely if it was that easy they wouldn't even bother selling lowseats for $120! |

Honestly, I don't know. I have reupholstered my X1 seat and I can say that the blast seat looks even easier. I think the low seat has a different seat pan though, so simply cutting foam wont do the job. |

The low seat doesn't cover the tank like the tall seat does. It's got a different base. But yes, you can make the upholstering change that simply. |

Yes, there is at least one thread devoted to seat modification and it is that simple. HOWEVER, low seats are a dime a dozen, tall seats sell for a premium. Its really not cost or time effective to turn a tall seat into a low seat. You really wont have to wait too long for somebody to trade a low seat for your tall seat. Requests are made for tall seats all the time. Search the Thumper forum and send out pm's. Watch e-bay and dont pay a lot for it. |
