Jonathan, >>> And maybe I missed it, but where did anyone even bring HD up in this thread? Why did you instantly go to a Harley related response? >>> You don't see it because you're drunk with it. >>> That's like saying you can't see the contacts in your eyes and then not believing they are there simply because of that fact. That rings entirely hollow as we're still waiting for you to provide a mere three examples to back up your assertion. You cannot. It's obviously a false assertion. An honorable man would recant. Others see it. You're not fooling anyone but yourself. Tpoppa, >>> I think the Buellaid comments come from a feeling that conversations on BWB aren't necessarily 'open discussions.' The derisive comment comes from a "feeling"? I think it comes from indignant jerks who have no idea how to communicate thoughtfully or constructively. >>> There seems to be this underlying need to keep the conversations complimentary. Inaccurate. The need is to keep conversations thoughtful, respectful, factual. What I see is a few know-it-all, self-proclaimed arbiters of objectivity mouthing off falsehood and inflammatory exaggeration. >>> That rubs some people the wrong way. It sure does! >>> If something is good say it's good. If it's bad it's OK to say that too. There's nothing bad about thoughtful criticism or honest commentary. The bad comes in with the inflammatory and exaggerated, some of it just plain hateful. Owens, >>> And maybe I missed it, but where did anyone even bring HD up in this thread? Why did you instantly go to a Harley related response? My comment concerning HDI is in direct response to your "bad attitude" assertion about me personally. I freely and openly admit that I have a bad attitude towards HDI. I understand why you don't like it as you have some queer compulsion to promote Harley-Davidson here. Go start your own HDI promotional site disguised as a Buell forum if that's what you want. I won't support it here. It's that simple, and not difficult to comprehend. Blake, if by Jonathan you mean me, I didn't say the thing you quoted. Also, you can go yourself if you think I'm not "honorable". See you later BadWeb! |

Wait, because I've not downed on HD in the past you thought youd bring it up now? Your bad attitude has little to do with your opinion of HD, its the way you come off in your posts and the negativity. Like now. Queer compulsion to promote HD? Classy Blake, real classy. How have I promoted them? Sure I've given my opinion on the products as I've put a lot of miles on them and know about them, but its not like Im going around 'promoting' them as you say. you just said "There's nothing bad about thoughtful criticism or honest commentary. The bad comes in with the inflammatory and exaggerated, some of it just plain hateful. " I've done that and you say Im promoting the brand and have a negative attitude towards me for it. |

If you ask me, this whole thread just proves that some people have waaaayy too much time on their hands! Not only the trolls who post outrageous SH*T online (not just here!), but also the others who get suckered into responding! I for one need some wind therapy!

recent pic? Outside of the wet looking roads, thats awesome. One of my favorite rides was down to Barber last year, on the way back we went on the Cherahola (spelling????) Skyway and it was nice to start seeing Snow on the sides of the road, beautiful scenery. |

Aw dammit - we don't get any scenery like that in the UK, pictures like that make me sooo jealous. On the other hand, what with Europe being so small I guess it's only about 900 miles to Austria/Switzerland... not quite " a day's riding" but something for a bank holiday weekend.. Or there's always Brecon.. It's kinda like that picture only waaaaaaay smaller |

>>> Your bad attitude has little to do with your opinion of HD, its the way you come off in your posts and the negativity. Like now. Then that may not be a bad attitude at all, just a very direct style of writing and misinterpretation by sensitive types. I'm a fairly direct person. Contrast that with the likes of someone who spouts off publicly about others having a bad attitude. You say you don't promote HDI here. You fooled me. |

Blake, what do you consider 'promoting'? I mean, what is your definition in relation to this topic (me and HD)? |

Hi - The pic is from last May 20, 2010 1/2 mile below the top of Tioga Pass (the eastern entrance to Yosemite). Despite having cleared all the roads, most of the park was not opened until July 4'th. Here is a link to the original thread if you'd like to drool over some more pix..... http://badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142838/566973.html?1275166807 Crater Lake, OR

You'd have to show it false to support that allegation. What you are failing to recognize is that while a conversation may not be complimentary, it may remain thoughtful, respectful, and factual concerning Buell motorcycles, Erik Buell Racing, and/or Erik and his associates. Short of that, it doesn't belong here. Period. Dems da rules. |

Jonathan, I corrected the misquote. >>> Also, you can go •••• yourself if you think I'm not "honorable".
quote:Posted on Thursday, May 05, 2011 - 03:03 pm by Drawkward: This thread is drowning in Buellaid. What a joke this is.
Honorable is as honorable does. Casting such inflammatory derision, then failing to support it with any evidence whatsoever, then refusing to recant is the polar opposite of honorable behavior. |

Blake, Im not asking for you to get a bunch of quotes from posts that Ive made, Im just curious what you consider promoting to be Sure, find quotes, but save yourself time and just say 'well its promoting if ____' and you fill in that blank. Personally, when I think of promotion I think of trying to get someone to purchase a product or service, talking things up etc etc Yes, i've said positive things about HDs in the past when giving an opinion on quality or comfort, same as anyone does with items they are familiar with. I've not made threads or posts in the manner of 'rush out and buy a new ______ from HD!' or 'go see your local dealer for a great deal on a new _____ (insert model name)' etc etc We have extremely different views on what 'promotion' is |

"Advocated for" might be the better characterization. |
