Has anyone made or sell a CF airbox cover that also allows air intake improvements? I saw a really cool one from Speed of Color, a German company, but shipping and Euro translation would have made it prohibitively expensive. Would opening in the cover even work for an 1125R? |

Erik Buell or anon has stated on this site the stock airbox using the stock inside airbox cover is the best you can do. That said the 1190 RS has a new larger inner airbox. I can only imagine the 'floor' of the airbox has been lowered to make it larger. I was thinking about that earlier this week and wondered if the lowered airbox and cold air inside of it would take heat away from the frame/gas. IDK. |

Easy - That's a really nice piece. Does the underlying air box need any mods to take advantage of the inlets and how does it handle wet weather? Does it need some kind of filter at the inlet area to manage rain? |

Yes, You can glue whatever you like in the holes, Depending if you ride a R or CR, or XB rainy weather needs protection depending what you did on the inner airbox, some tape wil do. (Message edited by easyrider on May 01, 2011) |

the newest article ont he 1190rs stated the the cover was the outside of the airbox rather than being two separate pieces like we have now. im sure the floor was lowered too. however that cover change alone is a great deal of volume alone |

I did know about the cover being the lid of the air box. I do know, I've seen the parts from the 1125RR and 1190RR race bikes have a lowered "floor" in it. I would post the pic, but can't find it again. |
