2002 M2 Cyclone. Bars are hitting the tank. Why? Fork stoppers fell off long ago... Anyone else deal with this? How'd you go about fixing it? |

I saw in one of the archive threads where someone used contact cement to glue pieces of rubber hose in the place of the stock ones. |

Those little thin foam oem rubbers won't keep the the control's from hitting the tank, they just keep the frame/fork tube from marring each other. Bar/control's to tank interference is caused by the bars being pulled back to far or the wrong bars for the bike, show a pic. |

I'll post a pic as soon as I can. Bikes in my friends garage. Put two new exhaust studs in. (Message edited by Daddyo on April 30, 2011) |

Definitely buy a new set. It comes with the necessary epoxy to attach them as well. Like Jramsey said, they won't prevent the controls from hitting the tank, but they will keep the lower triple clamp from hitting the tank! I finally got around to installing my missing one a couple of months ago (bought the bike new, and it was never there). |

My bars started hitting the the tank too. I thought it was a stopper issue but, as it turns out, I just dropped a wheelie too hard one time and my weight rotated the handlebars downward. This may not be your issue but it took me a while to figure this out! |
