Well I took my 01 X1 out with friends this weekend. Friday we drove up Hwy 1 to Fortuna CA. from Sausalito CA. Saturday we rode over the Trinity Alps on Hwy36 then back to Fortuna on Hwy 299. It rained all day! My tires were sticking good to the road, and the bike ran great! Sunday I rode back down Hwy 1 to home in Napa, CA. 900 miles for the weekend. The only problem I had was my alternator did not produce enough juice to keep my heated gear running. Saturday it was 34 deg at the mountain pass, snow on the sides and cold........... This bike handles great! |

On the straights and super slab, my butt gets a little tired. Riding the twisties is fine, sliding left and right and re adjusting my ass it does not get tired. |

I've done Highway 1 before on a bike - I am envious of the ride you did this weekend, would love to get back to the west coast and ride the road again |

Northern Cal has some amazing roads. Skaggs Spring road is the holy grail of roads in Nor Cal. We rode Hwy 36 and 299 wich are very nice (when dry) Go to Pashnit.com and check out the roads. What state are you in? |
