I am just curious how this company seems to be "our" choice or at least the choice of the few that have moved on past HD service and OEM options In my researching/google searching there are other options for stator rewinding. thanks todd |

I agree - I found several companies that looked good as well. EZ |

It is just a monkey see monkey do kinda thing. One person chose them for whatever reason, they had a good experience and told the rest of us. Rest of us followed. If I was to send my stator off for repair, custom rewound would probably be my pick. |

They are a know quantity. They have done 1125 stators. They have good reviews. |

I'm still under warranty for another 5 1/2 years. I don't trust that i will get service in 5 1/2 years unless there is an established Erik Buell Racing network by then. I have been thinking about getting an old stator off Ebay and sending it off to get rewound in the meantime! I guess you can say thinking ahead! IDK |

I think that same company has some history with the RSVR as well. Stators are a common problem in that motor, too, and as we know it's a cousin to ours, even sharing some parts like Oil Filters. |

I was the second or third person to try talking to them. Or at least to put up a post about it. They said they had actually rewound one other a few months before mine. According to them, there have been several bikes with simillar stator cooking problems. That's how, with their experimentation, came up with the weird green epoxy they use, AND the way they apply it. It stands up to the heat better than other epoxies they tried. Though mine's still sitting in the box, I was impressed with the knowledge (by phone) and the work they did. I had talked to 4 or 5 other places that couldn't or weren't interested in doing the work. I had mine done about September/October (?) or so last year. @ Froggy: "It is just a monkey see monkey do kinda thing" <giggle> Given the video that was going around a few months ago, maybe not the best choice of words...... R |

When i called them i was impressed of the knowledge of stators and the buell. Not to mention the fast turn around. Really happy with mine thus far. |
