They come preinstalled on the bike, they cover the radiator too |

There's no real mounting point for fame sliders, which have a nasty habit of snapping off engine mount bolts on many of the bikes they are used on... Erik Buell Racing has CF covers for the stator and clutch that should be effective (but are pricey) And there are several sellers of axle-mount sliders. |

I have flexiglass fairings and track pretty often so I was just wondering. I did see an 1125r track bike with a chili on it and the number 1 "black, red, white and blue vinyl" It has frame sliders. |

Tougelabs, the bike you are referring to is likely the one advertised by Zas Racing for their fairing kit. The sliders are made by a Spanish company called Pelacrash. Look for a few threads covering them on Buelletinboard. The engine mounts are apparently designed to snap off under high stress, presumably to help mitigate the potential tearing open of the fuel tank/frame in the event of a major crash. The extended length of those sliders leads me to believe they would make quick work of snapping off a engine mount in anything but a low speed lay-down. I'd look toward a pair of Frame pucks from a Uly, IIRC. That, or keep the factory pods in place. Either way, hope that answers your question. |

IMO, based on lowsiding my 1125 and seeing a race one that's been sliding sideways a few times: Frame sliders are pretty much pointless. The carbon fiber case savers are worth every penny. The radiator covers or fairing do a *great* job of sliding. The rear passenger pegs are also crash protection. I lowsided on the track with my rear signals/etc removed, and the only significant damage was to the clutch cover. If I had the case savers, there would have been zero significant damage - I've seen a clutch cover saver after a 100mph lowside, and it was only about one layer down - still quite usable. Basically, if you lowside nicely, the bike will be just fine other than the clutch or stator cover (if you don't have the case savers). If you highside or the bike starts flipping, case savers don't matter. |

Wow 130 at turn 4? I don't even think I hit 130 on the main straight when I was there last weekend! |

That's what happens when you try to "hypermile" at a race track... |

I put the pelacrach sliders on mine... I like them and hope to never find out of they work or not... I have not heard of ANY reports of them causing any frame damage in a crash.

I got only 27mpg, so I wasn't hypermiling. Turn 4 is a high speed sweeper, but I doubt I was able to hit it at more than 70 or so. I wasn't focusing on my speedometer, and they wouldn't let me run a GPS to record, so I can't be sure of my exact speeds. I was running most of the course in 3rd gear on my CR. |

Extreme6669- I done a search for these sliders and came up w/nothing for Buell or in English either. Are yours Buell specific? These look great to me! |

Finedaddy: There are a bunch of sellers in Europe, but none here. Do a search through the archives for "Pelacrash" and you'll find the group buy we did a while back. I did drop my bike at a very low speed (3mph or so) - turning into a parking lot - the front wheel slid out when it went over pile of lawn fertilizer pellets. Didn't break, has some barely visible rash on the bottom of the slider. That's it. |

It's just a big allen bolt that threads into the existing hole... You remove the stock allens and put the slider and spacer on with the new longer allen bolts... very straight forward and easy. |

Those look like they will contact the frame in a crash, which is exactly what you are trying to prevent. |

Those sliders bolt to the engine, it is easier to change a frame then an engine. If you wreck, the torque on the sliders could mess up the engine mount bolts. If you get the Cf case protectors and the pods you will be good. |

It looks as though they would fit even with the flexi-glass fairings I just purchased. |

It looks as though they would fit even with the flexi-glass fairings I just purchased. They fit the ZAS fairings IN have... so there's a good chance they'll fit the Flexiglass ones...
