Depends on the cubic inch and what your trying to do, short answer is yes it can be done. I would recommend a super B (because I am a big fan of it) there good for up to a 120 cubic inch. Benefits? Depends on your application and if your currently having issues with your set up. Tell him Will told you S&S carbs are garbage Here is a link to a website of a guy that can defintely tell you everyhting you need to know, http://www.beulscycledynamics.com/ Give him a call his name is Beul (not Buell) number is (301)870-0707. I need something that won't be such a pain in arse at part throttle. No matter what I do to the carb, it has a part throttle cough/lean condition. Not only that, I plan on cams and head work and I really don't want to dump any $$ in a CV. I also heard that these super carbs are easier to work on, is that true? |

I can't imagine how much easier it could be than to tune a CV. What is your current list of mods? |

A rejetted CV40 should be able to feed that pretty nicely I think. Is the forcewinder kit modded for the carb's float vent? There was an issue with some vintage of forewinders doing a strange venturi-Bernoulli effect and messing with the carb's floatbowl vent. Lemme see If I can find the article. |

I'm running a super E on my s1. I like it. I also recommend a super B but not for the buell. I run a B on two other bikes and the stick out quite a bit. |

I believe I have the second of the two in the photo. Although, mine has a set screw near where the bowl vent would be on the outside. (Message edited by m2typhoon on April 26, 2011) |

Pics of yours would help. You can open up the new version with a dremel. |

This is actually part of why I started this thread. I was waiting for someone to tell me that the Mikuni is awesome because I really do want to put a bigger carb on. |

That hurts Jim! I would say why Mikuni when S&S works so well... Seriously, I wouldn't put a G on a 1200cc. I had one on my S1 and it is way too big. I currently have an E with S&S heads. Way better throttle response and tunability than a G. B carbs do not have an accelerator pump and stick out about an inch further than a E, so they are not a good carb for a Buell. Shovels or Ironheads are a different story. Jeff |

Yeah, I'd recommend either a Mikuni HSR 42 or S&S E carb. To each his own, but I prefer the Mikuni. However the S&S is American made.. I have some good Buell LSR friends that say the CV44 is pain to tune, but I've no personal grievance as I've never had one. |
