One of the little metal latch pieces that rotates to hook the bag to the bike fell off. Last time that happened I bought an entire latch assembly, but those are becoming next to impossible to find and it leaves me with an unusable spare part since the piece I needed was already used. Does anyone have a source for the little latching piece???? |

I had the same problem recently after an "incident" and fabbed up a new plate and fortunately the latch draw bolt broke at the cross pin. I welded a bolt onto the existing latch mechanism and it works fine. With parts disappearing, its time to get innovative. They sorta laughed when I had the local HD dealer check for replacements. |

DB, I don't have a source, but I can hook you with a latching piece from one I just replaced. It's yours if you want it. PM me your address and I'll drop it in the mail. |

Second to Court's suggestion. If he can't find his, I had to buy a whole latch assembly just to get a new plastic handle, so I might have the piece you're looking for as well. |

so it looks like you have everything except the metal 'tongue' part and the nut/lock washer that holds it on? Is that correct? |

That's right and I'm pretty sure that I have a brand new one in the same condition, missing that little clip. |

I'm 99% sure I have one and I'm 99% sure of where it is, just have to dig a bit in the garage. Will get back to you. |
