Good morning all....

I'm digging my 04 Blast, it's going to become my commuter vehicle, I do have a car but naturally want
to capitalize on the fuel economy.

I've done wet weather riding in the past, I'd like to know how the Blast handles wet weather commuting,
are there any increased maintenance or repair issues, such as bearings , or exhaust issues .......?

Or anything , else, advice, tips , or recommendations?

Thanks.

Nope!
Just get any other tire than a Dunlop....

Leaving anything in the rain will takes its toll. Most of the issues will be with the wiring and rust. Try to cover it when you can and hopefully it lives in a garage. Its really not that big of a deal though.
Pirelli or Avon tires, in that order. Ditch the Dunlops asap.

Sorry. re read your post and you didnt need all that extra information!

Last night I put chain and sprockets on a KLR 650, he is a customer of the Big Kid, but didn't want to take it to the shop because he wanted to learn to do it himself.

Anyways, I told you that to tell you this, he rode over in the rain and left in sleet/rain/snow last night. Of course he had Alpinstar gear so he had no concerns.

The most important thing is to have good gear, he must have spent easily over $1000 on it all.

Just concerned about the bike, I do want to go to Avons, but I need to use up the Dunlops first, can't wait......

The Dunlops are just an accident waiting to happen - change ASAP - you have no idea.

That's what I understand, can you clue me in to what I can expect ? I've experienced some minor grip inconsistencies, I plan on commuting with these or are there catastrophic failure or safety issues?

Poor grip and will follow every groove in the road. There isnt any real safety issues that I've heard of, they just suck, especially when there are far better tires available.
I can think of nothing worse than a cold, hard, Dunlop in the rain. Nothing I'd want to bet my life on.

Thanks you all... I feel a little stupid since I needed to assume we're talking wet weather performance here....as per my original question, which I went add on..

Does sound spooky and at the very least annoying. Thanks again for the advice, at the very least I'll not ride in the rain till I get better tires.

Careful, they are not much better in the dry either.
