Guys I have a couple of S2/S2T items that I need to sell, but don't have any idea how to price them. First is a Quicksilver Metallic tail section with nice paint except for 1 spot about the size of a dime on the left side.It has the dark blue/lighter blue S2T decal. No tail light or signals.A friend of mine is interested. If he doesn't get it I'll put it on here. The second item is a set of S2T bags with narrow lids and the mount. They are also Quicksilver Metallic but need some repair. They were on one of the Duluth,Ga. cop bikes. And had blue lights mounted on the inners at the rear and on the lids. The inners had three small holes 1/4" in diameter that have been filled. The lids have a rectangular hole roughly 4 1/4" x 1 1/4" that has a reflector covering it.The lids have some scratches, but otherwise shiny paint. They could use new gaskets.

I also have a new in the box Buell Vanguard S2 tank bra part number 61495-96Y.It comes with instructions and velcro for attachment.I have no idea what its worth.
I have an original well used but still servicable pair of Buell expandable saddlebag liners that will fit an S2T or S3T.They don't look new but I was never staying at the Hilton.I'll take 40 shipped.

Tailsections go for around $100, plus or minus $25. One just sold on eBay. Look there screening for "completed listings." |

I've been riding without a latch for the seat since I got the bike. Haven't had it stolen yet and if I'm sitting on it, it won't fall off. (It does come off when the bike slides down the road, I've just learned.) It also could come off when its trailered, I almost learned.(Thank goodness my sweetheart is a smart lady.) I may take it to a locksmith someday and just get the tumblers removed so any round key would turn it. |

This is slightly off topic, but reading this post made me feel obligated to bring it up. I think that the rear seat latch and lock mechanism is an off the shelf piece for something else, it was not custom made for Buell. I have always wanted to find a replacement as every one I have ever seen with some miles gets loose in the barrel, as well as the nut around the body of the lock, then it starts to chew into the fiberglass (lots of vibs back there). I just have been too busy with everything else to look around. I had started a 'top 10 improvement' list that I lost on my old Quantex 'puter when it crashed for the last time, but would like to pull everyones collective knowledge at some point to find the 'real origins' of these harder to find tuber parts and 'better' updated pieces so that I can keep my S2s rolling. I realize that there are a lot of posts about customizing these bikes and to each his own, but I like the 'sleeper' look. I would like it to look stock, but run better than when it was new. This would also reduce the 'strain' on the quickly diminishing NOS and quality used parts out there for restorers. There, glad to get that off my chest. |

@Zen. I think that's a great idea. Start a new thread in the S2 section. There's already an active thread on signal lights being the same as a Triumph. Mirrors from some snowmobile are a close match. Isolators from some Big Twin. |

Yamaha Snowmobile 101 Mirror replacment is Yamaha part number: pair 8CR-W2628-00-00 left 4SV-26280-00 right 4SV-26290-00 They look very similar, but have a textured finish. They have studs instead of holes. You have to remove the rear stud with a cutoff wheel drill a new hole.Install a socket head allen of the correct diameter and length.Since you can't get to the head of the allen with the boot covering it,you drill a small hole into the side of the socket. Then use safety wire to secure it to the mirror stalk. |

sportyeric, yeah my lock broke the 2nd day i had the bike and been riding with it off ever since. it would just be nice to have if i ever wanted to put something in the glove box area or get those universal saddle bags that strap across and under the seat. i guess a locksmith would be the only choice if there isnt a replacement for it. |

As for the seat lock, I ditched mine when it broke and filled in the hole. You can glue Velcro strips between the seat the tail and you shouldn't have any problems. Might wanna take the seat off or strap it down if you tow it though. |
