I figured I'd ask here first before bothering Erik Buell Racing. I've got the programable DDFI3 module and I'm looking to make some tweaks to my engine map for the first time. The goal is to reduce the amount of engine braking I'm getting at high rpm so I get better control entering 2nd gear corners. Looking at the tools in IDS it looks like Tab_IAC_Run_Pos_Gear_ax is the table I need to work with. I've already got 100's in what looks like the zero throttle row between 6000-11000 rpm. Is that as high as it the IAC goes? I can set these numbers as high as 255. Then I have to wonder if changing IAC means I have to change the fuel tables, or if IAC automatically get's factored into the load axis for the fuel tables. hmmm. |

Those are specific commands within the E B R race module. Seriously, shoot them an email and ask. They will PROBABLY email you a map that will work with less throttle braking. Realize this weekend is Infineon so you might not get an instant response... but seriously, you ought to ask. I finally put the slipper clutch in mine - man, if there is ANY way you can do that mod, it will make you a believer! |

Thanks. I'd love to run the slipper but half my races are in wera superstock so I need to keep the stock clutch. I'll play with the map some his weekend during practice and if I can't get anywhere I'll call on ebr. |

I've found them to be SUPER helpful. Your question makes perfect sense and I wouldn't be surprised if they email you what you're looking for. I stumbled into the slipper when Glendale was converting their XBRR to a Bonneville machine and didn't need it any longer. I understand about class rules. My good thing is I'm not fast enough for anybody to protest my non-conforming machine in BOTT Middleweight and Heavyweight. Formula Twins is anything goes... as does Formula 50 (except you gotta be old enough to get into the class!) |
