After being asked to have the 1st fitment of the Erik Buell Racing sidewinder drag exhaust and running some great times at the drag strip a9.28 et with it and after speaking to Dris it was time for a twinmotorcycles fuel map taylor made for my bike as i had only had fuel maps sent to me via email and the last one i had was in 2009 since then stacks fitted air box modification and now the drag pipe . so off i set to the Netherlands with bike in my works van passport and a tom tom .i left my house at 4 am tuesday morning to Harwich to catch the 9.00 am ferry to the hook of Holland and then straight off the ferry to twinmotorcycles .on the way there Dris rang me and asked how long would i be as he was running his clutch in on his shelby i said not long i will pull in and wait for you so i waited and Dris pulled up beside me and said follow me i live up here then he smoked the tyres up the road. i then thought this is the kind of guy i like to deal with LOL After unloading the buell and feeling what 1000nm of torque feels like in a street car it was time to hit the sack as tomorrow was going to be a busy day and no sooner said we were strapping the bike down in the dyno room .The 1st thing we did was get a reading the amount of ponies we started off with and with a peak power 145 rwhp and 108 nm that was a good start we found out that the bike was running on the fat side witch was a surprise to me as the amount of mods done to it after the map was done .Now time for Dris to work his magic this dyno room is his office and the only thing i could do was watch and be tea boy for the day and what a long day it was i thought i gave my bike some abuse at the strip but the dyno room well put it this way these motors are Strong .after a long day we had a Strong 152 rwhp with 120nm and the motor only lost 2 hp when hot which is important on drag racing as you run in all conditions .Dris also sorted out cold starting and lowering the cold temp for me he also can up with a nice little trick on a sensor but cannot tell you about that sorry . while i there i met Martin ,Ric ,and Dris other half with a little one on the way plus all the cats and a dog .i had a good look around the show room and work shop and it is a shrine to Buell the people are nice and help full and is well worth a visit if you are in that area . i stayed another night there we had a few more things to sort out and it was a big thanks to twinmotorcycles from me and off to the ferry back to the UK . I went testing with the new tune on saturday with the extra power and its feels like a different bike it pull so hard now i can feel the thing twisting ,i was spinning off the line and running 9.2 my 60ft was 6 hundreds down from normal .I need to learn to launch the bike with the extra power its a different animal now it even sounds different and when i sort this out theres a 9.1 in there for sure best to date 9.26 et @ 146 mph http://youtu.be/WhzshRBbosI

Thanks for letting us see the shop. I am sure 99% of us had no idea the scale of the operation. |

The Shop is exactly what we have i mind, and i like it clean. The second floor is parts department, shipping, and 3 places 1 for for engine building, 1 for welding, 1 for dirt things (-: and a lot of boxes for shipping parts.. Thanks for the heads up ... and we are working on getting more female employee (-: |

That is a TOP NOTCH looking facility! I would love to have the chance to visit a Buell shop like that. With Erik Buell Racing on the rise, I think we'll be seeing shops like this in the US soon. Not that we don't already have some around... just can't wait to see what the future brings us. |
