My buddy in north Georgia just called. He said he took a ride today and stopped in at TWO campground in Suches. He walked up on the porch and noticed everything was gone, even the lock on the door. He walked inside and it was stripped. He noticed a sign on the door stating the closing. He went over to the gas station and found out that the land was part of 60+ acres that they were leasing. We always thought it was owned but evidently it wasn't. They had not paid the rent for a while so they didn't renew the lease and they refused to sell them the land around the lodge. Hugh, I figured that out about 5 minutes after I posted!  I spend too much time on the computer already, the thought of going elsewhere is not going to get my dishes done! If I remember correctly the owners of the land will only sell all 60+ acres for 2 million. That is retarded. I always thought Frank owned all the land since he put in the air strip on 180. He offered my friend a piece of land for a house many years ago. Lot of lawsuits since then and a falling out of the family too. Thanks for the link. | ||

It is pretty nuts. I just can't imagine there's much of a market for that piece of land right now. Since this happened, GT posted on Facebook something to the effect of "sometimes when one door closes another door opens" so maybe there's a possibility of a TWO 2 in the future? | ||

Land in that area is pretty reasonable right now, good time to buy if people are reasonable themselves. There are other biker campgrounds further north. Kickstand and Ironhorse come to mind. Hopefully GT can relocate. | ||

Tootal, I just went to TWO this past Saturday. They now have Private Property signs all over the place there. I asked someone why and they said all of the bikers were coming by walking around and taking stuff. Interesting... It was a sad site for sure... I took some pics I will post of later today. |
