I should have mine this month and will do a full write up on making the brackets "may make a few sets" but from what I know the ecm stays in the same location the flexi glass just replaces the covers. |

Hey Craig... Talked my wife into going to the trackwith a new toyhauler Was going to do some WERA tracks due to the lack of ccs MW tracks.. So I built this thing with the intention of adding some serious HP to make up for my lack of riding skills and contend with WERA classes but with an estimated tag of around $20,000 to do so... I'll ride casually till it sells, then build a 200hp 1198 and wait for an affordable 1190... |

Yeah, i'm not real excited that MW turned into the "BlackHawk Cup" this year, but....guess that's how it goes. I'm headed down to Topeka just for that reason, it's the only other track on the schedule! Should be fun, I always enjoy learning a new track. |

I'm think of HP also but to drive 16 hours and be in the middle of tornado alley during tornado season ummmm I'll go weather pending... If interested check out Gratton Raceway they just finished repaving the whole track, hold 2 WERA races & tons of trackdays, also in the same area is Gingerman,s had somework done to the track and holds a WERA race... |

Yeah, there was talk about those being on the CCS schedule, and they are to me about what HPT is to you, really far away! I wasn't heartbroken when they dropped from the schedule. FedEx just dropped these off to me. (might recognize who's they were) Now to start prepping and painting. Then I'll get them mounted up next weekend and should be ready to roll. |

No, he switched to a Flexi-glass setup at some point last year, he was wanting to get rid of the fans and bring his temps down. Odd though, as I have never had a temp issue with this setup on mine? Guess I'm only a couple hours West of you. |

I didn't think so... second time I had my bike on the track I got my race license and Rick was very intrigued with it next time I saw him he had a red R and seemed to love it.... no cooling problems here either just a couple of OH S*** moments with brakes, but I took care of that |

Buell101, did Jim Dugger give you a different set of drawings from the ones that I got from Michael Richter at Erik Buell Racing and posted to your thread last month? If yes would you please post them here so I can have access to them too? BTW I have the same FlexiGlass fairings you have. When I was at Erik Buell Racing last summer I asked Michael about a kit for mounting the original FlixiGlass ram air fairings. He said there wouldn’t be any kits till much later, but that they had thought about it. So I called Trev at FlexiGlass and that’s when he told me about the new fairings he was designing that you and I have now. I ended up spending too much at Erik Buell Racing and just couldn’t fit the new fairings into my budget at the time. The real bum deal in my story is that shortly after returning from Erik Buell Racing I got the job I’ve wanted for the last 20+ years. I’m doing what I want and getting more salary than ever. The problem is that I have to fly out of Albuquerque Sunday afternoons and don’t return till midnight Friday nights. My road racing career is put on hold till my schedule changes. But I really dig the way your bike looks with the new fairings mounted in black. I’ve been following your progress and I appreciate your posts. Please keep them coming. Thanks Duggram can't go wrong with black...congrats on the new job! Pix don't do Ohlins forks justice. The 6 piston dual calipers actually seem to weight less than the 4 piston I had on last year! The bracket was just an simple ECM mount to the frame where the inner pod went. I just used Dzus screw and made 2 brackets out of alum. bar stock to mount the flexiglass. Seems robust enough to take to the track also I used auto weather stripping to fill voids on the rad scoops seemed to work great.. unfortunatly missed out this weekend to test. The E B R ecu I installed through a bunch of codes and it wouldn't start.... Finally unplugged the fuel pump and the TPS sensor and it started. Let it sit same thing throws a bunch of erros comm error fuel pump error TPS error.... not happy it was 80 here!!!

Thanks for the pics, especially the front shot. I missed your post where you introduced your Ohlin forks. That looks great. I looked into getting that type of lower fork leg for the Showa forks (a shop in Europe makes them) and they were like $2,600. What type of bike are the Ohlins made for and what front wheel is that? I got the black Showas from Erik Buell Racing last year, but have since found out that Ohlins is now making a 30mm cartridge for the stock Buell forks. I'll get them later this summer. The weather strip idea sounds good. With these panels I think we’re going to need all the air possible over the radiators. I’ll continue to watch for your posts and do my best to make some progress on mine. My panels are still on the shelf. I also need to get the short subframe and race wiring harness on. My best chance to get this done is coming up next weekend. We’ll see…. |

Ohlins FGRT808 2010 R1 monoblocks, R1 wheel with 320mm rotors and 5mm caliper spacer. The thing I don't like about it is the Vesrah SRJL pads are $300. But I guess you are getting an extra pad so it makes sense. Go with Attack lower claps if you are interested. With racer discount I think it's $850 for the upper lower and stem with offset adjustabilty and they make it for the 1125R, not bad for all Billet and ti bolts.... Is it the 30mm NIX? Take notice the NIX has compression in one fork and Rebound in the other like the new R1's and Kawi dirtbikes and I know guys are/where having issues with setting that style up especially at the track. Lack of knowledge which will change as is with eveything new... Hope you get some time to wrench, I know I enjoy almost as much as riding... almost |
